So which is it, Sdh...going against tradition or cooking turkey? Or is cooking turkey against tradition?

I am confused.

Happy Tuesday ! I've finished turkey day shopping, and now I just need to declutter the dining room...It's full of sewing stuff, since there are spiders in my sewing room and I can't sew there! Well, mabe just 1 spider...but it was HUGE !
On a sad note, I am going to the vet in about an hour to say good bye to my old springer spaniel, Pepper. She was my Dad's dog and I've had her about 9 years. We think she's 15 or more years old, so she's had a good long life, and has been much loved. She can't walk anymore, and seems to be in a lot of pain, so it's time. Sucks really bad anyway you slice it.
So, if you have a drink with your dinner, please raise a little toast to a lovely little dog who will be romping through doggy heaven tonight!

Pokey the turkey dinner is against the tradition. For the last 15 years we had...pizza! Now that DH is on a low salt-low fat diet it looks like the turkey in fridge is it...

Oh, Techno. I have been there - it is a hard place for sure. My heart goes out to you and Pepper. I know it is for the best, as do you, but it doesn't make it any easier on the grieving end of it. Tears for both of you even though it is for the best; and a toast to dear sweet Pepper, indeed. Smiling down upon you through the stars you'll feel her happiness at no more suffering, no more hurting; and knowing how deep your love for her is, she'll be sending hers your way letting you know she is OK now. ((Hugs))

Thanks for the kind words. She went very peacefully, and I actually feel better now. I miss her, but it's a relief not to watch her be in pain anymore. I'm not ready for a new dog yet, but I told hubs that it seems like all of the dogs I've ever owned just sort of came to me by accident. I'm sure that when the time is right, the canine gods will place another sweet beastie into my lap.

Here in Willcox, Az on a television station out of Tucson they showed FOUR HOMER SIMPSON episodes in a row!!!

I was in heaven!!

Can you imagine? Four Homer Simpson episodes in a row!!!

I wish I could move here.
