There's just something sexy about a "for real cowboy" :hubba::hubba: This picture conveys that you were "all that" and you KNEW it, LOL. I think that frog is in my shirt pocket now, TT :)

Thanks all of you. Your making an old man feel good.

Sdh, in our family we tend to start the kids out real young on horses and then if they want to (but only if they want to), we teach them to do more.

The young fella standing up in the saddle is my grandson and he's now 16 years old and is so good at breaking horses that he is highly sought after by people from all over this part of the country.

We "gentle break" our horses and this boy was taught by some of the best in the business. He is usually working on about five horses at a time.

That little gal running barrels is one of my granddaughters.

Wow TT I am impressed. Nice grand kids! Talented as well! I wish I would have pursued the horse training. I even had a guy hired who could not train him. (I found out later he was abused-the horse). One of the reasons I gave him up. I sold him to a more advanced trainer than I. LOL (BTW I knew very little about training a horse and at the same time met my pepe of my dreams!)

Well Sd, I'd say you came out the winner then since you found your Pepe! Good for you!

Horses that have been abused or taught poor habits are best not to fool with. You did the right thing.

LOL, here's one more pic and then I'm quitting this before I bore everybody to tears.

This is about the age we start the kids out on horses. Now understand, this is done under highly controlled circumstances with experienced adults and on kid friendly, older horses with many safe guards in place.

Oh you could never bore anyone. I love horses. I was hoping to get into urban chicken farming. However, they have village rules!
So I suppose I can't have a mini-farm. I will have to wait on that.

I believe the younger you start the easier it will be with riding. I started when I was 13 and ended riding at 23. Being thrown into the horse fence ended my riding abilities. (OCD). Now I just ride my motorcycle when I feel adventurous. I took it out last year one time!

LOL, Nursie T, believe me. Back then - at that time and place, there really wasn't anybody around to try to impress. Just lots of long days and hard work. LOL, I don't know about the "sexy" part, but the only thing I "KNEW' was that I was proud of my new Stetson.
