Great food ideas, Sd. Also, the caramel cream as a trap should work....you know he will be chain vaping. Then we will lock the door from the outside so that we have him all to ourselves for as long as we want. But with the Dom Perignon, the beautiful flowers and the caramel cream juice, he might never want to leave......anyone else feel free to add to the welcome home gifts of goodies piling up beside the sofa.

And Pokey, you are right......veggies are just there to hold the cheese together. I did just have an idea.....I make a dish called halusky--cooked shredded cabbage in onion and butter and then mixed with noodles. I might make that....a nice fall dish that goes well with pork.

Give your son happy birthday hugs from us, Sd.......and tell him we would like him to share any leftover pizza.

Techno, let us know if you get a tablet and how you like it. I want an iPad (I'm partial to Apple products) but hubby says the only reason I want one is so I can get on ECF when I'm at work, LOL. And he's right. I have a laptop so I can sit on the couch (or wherever) and still chat with you all. So I don't really need an iPad....

I'm afraid I will miss TT's homecoming this evening . I've got to take our hounds to the vet at 4, then DH and I are going out to eat with his team at work. But I definitely will check in later!

My contribution to pile beside the plaid couch is extra batteries. I don't want TT to have to get up to change the batteries in his ePower/Buzz/Phidias, etc because I know he will be vaping and reading these threads long into the night

TG-I would be happy just to have a laptop. I am so tech-illiterate. I use to be so into computers and the latest and greatest. I think I know what a tablet is. My cellphone is old. I am afraid to upgrade because I might get lost. I am going to purchase a laptop but I want it with wi-fi technology built in. I am sure they have that feature. I found out why I cannot hook up to wi-fi in my area because my computers are absolute! The one I am using was a custom build back in 2003 I think. (Time for a upgrade)

Yes, I think it is time for an upgrade, Sdh We got my son a laptop for school and I started using it instead of my desktop computer. When my son moved out, I had to have another laptop! My husband found a MacBook on Craig's List at a good price, and I love it! You could also check out refurbished laptops to save a little money. We've bought several refurbished electronics items and have never had a problem with them.

I looked at best buy earlier and was amazed. The prices have went down since I bought my sons computer 2 years ago. I am going to wait until those black Friday type of sales start this year. However, I don't want to camp out to save a few bucks. I will check out Craigs list as well.

Chimney: You are a person after my own heart.....no such thing as too much bacon or too much butter (and my belly will attest to the fact that I live what I say). No, haven't put bacon in it, but have put crumbled, browned sausage in it and that is yummy also.....bet bacon would be great, too.

Hey Everlast.....that chicken looks mighty anemic. Could we have something a little more substantial? After all, it is a guard chicken. And if it doesn't guard well, we can always eat it...so need something with more meat on it.

If it were me, I'd cut up a few bacon strips and fry them in the pot first, add butter as needed to make enough oil to cook the onions and then cabbage in. (now I'm getting hungry!! )
