Its 12:14 here. Doing great techno. Hey do you know anything about the amazon kindle fire? It sounds interesting but I am tech challenged. My bro was telling me that you can surf the web for free.

Sdh, I looked at the fire, but decided I need a bigger screen. I love my kindle2 for basic books & stuff...We went up to best buy and looked at all the tablets, and decided on the Toshiba Thrive 10 inch. The hubs went ahead & ordered me one off Amazon for an anniversary present (17 blissful years this week!)...

Yep I know. I've been forced to work more than I like lately. Dang customers. Plus, theres that new grand baby that I have to keep going to visit (He's over 10 pounds now! and 10 weeks old!). Also, another grandbaby on the way, and I have sewing & crocheting to do. I find it hard to type on the computer while I'm crocheting though...

I don't know how you do stay up so late SC. I must have my 8 hours of beauty sleep, or I really become Green!

I love to crochet, Techno. I work with a lot of young women, of child-bearing years. When they are expecting I always try to make a baby blanket for them. I enjoy it and they seem to appreciate it. Tonight I got my crocheted witch out of the attic for halloween :) A few years ago my mom and I crocheted a halloween witch. Hers turned out so cute! I tend to crochet large, so mine turned out HUGE, LOL.

I like alot of things about the Kindle Fire, except the screen size. I have a Droid and my only complaint is that I can't see the screen cuz I'm over 50 now and everything looks smaller...
Almost every place we go seems to have free wi-fi so I figure I'll be able to surf most places anyway.

I have trouble with gauge myself. I think I'm a loose crocheter so things always turn out a little big.
I bought a beautiful crochet'd witch doll at a craft fair a few years ago. I'll have to go dig her out!
She was more detailed & fancy than I'd have the patience to make.
I have made kitchen witches, which are fun & quick to make!

I thought about tablets as well. Congrats on the anniversary!

TG I work a few thirds here and there! IDK how people can do it full time. I am so wired it is hard to fall a sleep. I end up sleeping a few hours so I don't feel like I wasted another day. I tried crocheting many years ago. I forgot how to do it.

Thank you!
I'm so bad I actually FORGOT our anniv was the 8th.
He told me he was getting me the Thrive for an anniv present, and I must have gone blank in the face, cuz he had to say "Hello??? It's next Saturday!!". Now I have to think up something cool to get him. Arggg.

Sd, if you have a Best Buy near you, you should go out & try the tablets. They all feel totally different - some thin, some thick...and one of the reasons I liked the thrive was it's rubbery back. It just feels more rugged.
Also, I've got 3 Toshiba laptops (for work & kids & whatever)...and one of them is 9 years old and still works. It's slow, but still works, so I guess I have confidence in Toshiba's quality.

So I actually have to pay for the wifi hook up?

If you don't already have it at home then yes you would have to by a wireless router...but they can be purchased for less than $50 and connected to you existing home computer.... and as tech said there are alot of places that have free wifi if you are out and about!

Yep, what he said.
We bought a wireless router from Costco that plugs into the comcast modem, so we can use wireless devices (computers, smartphones) all over the house.

Sounds good guys! I am just trying to compare a few things. To change things out in the house I need a new computer. The village did own wi-fi but sold it off to some company. So I am sure I can get local wi-fi. I was thinking of something simple like the g3 or fire for puttering around with. Oh we have allot of best buys in the area. I just bought a playstation move unit for son's b-day. I cannot play video games because of some weird motion sickness.

I do need to upgrade.
