LD sorry to hear your news. I have been financially raped before. Without disclosing too much someone we knew took off with a chunk of our money. (I can understand). I know its not the same as how you feel but I struggled to survive after this occurrence.
My bankruptcy was discharged in 2000. The DA wouldn't prosecute because... in a partnership, you need to be able to prove what is specifically yours... otherwise, either partner can just walk away with it. I walked away from a very successful business with nothing. All because some idiot looked at the amount of money coming in and wanted it all.
He got a small location about a mile down the road. When I came back from taking a week off, the store was empty, cafe was bare, ISP torn apart and all the desks were empty. He cleaned out the bank account.
He didn't last a month. It was too complicated for his little mind. He paid for a car and drive off for Chicago.
His only real job in the store was web design. We had a large customer that gave him a new design for their site and he told them "No. That's stupid!" We lost the account and I tore him a new a**hole. That's when he decided that he wanted it all.
Anyway, that was in '98 and is done and over with. I don't really think about it too much. Well, except for tonight. It is going to be filed under "Things Not To Do This Time!".
So, I don't want to cast depression in T's fine home. This is a place for fun. I am going to go look at home new vaping hardware and will come back in a bit with questions.
