So, I finally figured out how I've been killing all of those cartos and making them leak. I didn't do anything. They weren't leaking. I decided to fill one of the holes, and fill the carto with water. It never leaked. I pulled the plug on the carto, filled the tank with pure PG and waited. It started leaking about 20 minutes later. So, what was really happening? The damn tank was leaking! It was very hard to tell, because it looked like the bottom hole in the carto was leaking, but it was all an illusion. All of those cartos I tossed were fine. The problem was with the tank, this whole time. ACK!

Anyway, I have 2 tanks. One I've never used, because it was a tad bit too big for my cartos (except the ones that I was sent). Anyway, I had one SS DC carto left, hit it with the dremel, and tanked it up with the bigger tank. Everything is working fine. As a matter of fact, it has been working fine for the last two days.

So, has this given me a whole new love for tanks? Well, a better appreciation. I do like the flavor. The amount of vapor is still lacking though. I am going to head to Lowes tomorrow, if I remember, and get everything to tank my Fusions. Maybe those will be a little better.

I am still good though. I have my Fluxos and VEs. I just love those! :)

LD

That is odd LD. I have never had one leak from the grommets before only directly out the battery end of carto if the tank was not filled right. I am glad that you figured it out though. I don't think that I have ever had as much flavor from any carto as I get from a tanked DC :)

The flavor is good. It is as good as my .9ML CE2. It just isn't as much vapor as any of the CE2's I use. I am going to try some other cartos though. Maybe I can modify these by making the holes bigger too. If the airflow was higher, I think it would be better. Also, I've only tried a SS DC carto that you sent me, and a DC that I got from VJ. I haven't tried the Fusions yet. They are smaller, but may work better.

Anyway, it's okay that one leaked. You sent me two anyway. ;-) I knew as soon as I was sliding on the grommets, that there was something different. These were really tight. The other ones weren't. Plus, with these, I can pull one down to refill and the juice doesn't leak out. Any movement on the other ones would cause leaking all over the place.

Yes but from what I have heard they are only good at 6V plus. I have not tried them though.

Maybe I will get some to try with the Infinity. It goes to 6.6V, where the IPro only goes to 5.5V.

So, umm... which area am I going to at Lowes? Is all of this in pluming or something?

Hey guys!! Hope all is well... just checking in ... was on my tablet but got a phone call so had to duck out!! I am back for a few....

salem I am using 1.5 DC's with tank and have not had any problems at all! :) And I don't even use a syringe .. I can carefully slide the top grommet up and fill from there... then gentle push back down slowly... and it works great for me!! :)

I have been using a self piercing saddle valve and it puts a perfect small hole in the cartos. They are in plumbing by the ice maker supplies. I will PM a picture to you.

Hey I do have to take back my previous statement.... I did have one problem, last time I changed the carto.. I forgot to prime it... I normally put a few drops of juice in the carto before I put it together... and when I didn't it leaked out the battery hole for a few minutes till the filler material got wet!! JMO.. :)

You know I used to put the carto in tank empty but I have found that I have better luck filling it first. If it goes in the tank empty it sucks up mist of the juice from the tank and then you have to refill it. Plus if it does not wick properly and fill completely I have dry spots.

Hi All!! We're still in Tucson, decided to stay an extra day and still haven't done everything we would like to do, but really happy with everything we've got to see. We'll be heading back to Willcox tomorrow via Sierra Vista.

Hey, exciting news! I got a new stereo put in my truck today!! I know I'm 20 years behind in technology, but this one lets me plug in my iPod and I can play all my old fashioned music on it and it sounds fantastic!!! I still have the same speakers that came with the truck in 1999, but the sound is amazing!! Really enjoying it!!!

We have so many nice pics that I'm going to wait until we get back to the trailer (and the better WiFi) to get some uploaded to PhotoBucket and posted on here. We didn't have WiFi here yesterday but its back up again today. Not a real strong signal though.

Hey LD, good luck on getting your grommets and continuing with your DIY!! I got a tank from one of our lady friends on here and the 2 ohm carto that was sent with it just has a small hole punched with an awl and the flavor and vast clouds of vapor are nothing short of incredible! Get that thing working right and your going to love it!

Well, I'm still on this little keyboard that I can't type on, so I'm going to be looking and reading. I'll fill y'all in when we get back to Willcox.

Yeah it might take awhile for LD to get his grommets and his holes straight knowing him LOL! Edit- I bet that his holes are too big knowing that he is using a dremmel :)

Glad to hear that Mrs TT let you splurge on a new stereo TT. You must be on very good behavior :)

Have fun and we are all looking forward to the pictures when you get back to Wilcox :)

Yep salem, I figured this out by accident... cuz the first carto I used was one that I had just started using that day... but it had already been filled... and I did the same with the next, until this last one when I got a brand new one out that I had not filled... and that is when I had the problem... live and learn :) Or be smart enough to ask someone who already knows!!
