the locks are a 24 hour operation so i climbed than darn fence and walk over to the lock masters little house and go up to the glass front door and look in and see this fella laid out on the table sleeping.

I bang on the door and bang an finally he gets up looks at me like he saw a ghost and im point to the lock gates , he got the idea what i wanted and held up hi index finger as in wait i'll open the gates.

To bad my Becky could not operate the boat cause i had to climb that damn fence again and by now i was straight....lol
Got back on the boat and i swear till this day i did not have to tie up once i motored into the locks cause that guy drop the water so fast and opened them gates right away for me i guess he felt i was gonna report him but i would never do that.

We got back to the marina and that was that.
there was another time i was out partying with some friends and i spotted a dead body in the river.
But thats for another time i gonna get some rest now.

Sorry i type slow and hit wrong keys i know it can be boring to read bits and pieces here and there.
But all in all its a true story that will stay always stay with me.
That boat was fun but a heck of a lot of upkeep cause it was all wood .

Our boat was made for speed and made from kevlar but it was a helluva lot to upkeep. I could only imagine wood :)

I LOVE your stories! Not boring at all IMO

I do have a good out of the way spot for it though off one of the gutters in yard that would be mostly hidden from view .
Neighbors cant say much cause im on a corner lot.
One day i fine one but will probably be moved outta this state by then.

The nice thing about living in the boonies and in the middle of 15 acres of woods is that neighbors can't see us lol

Yes Salem them boats are nice very nice and lots of fun been on a few in past.
Now a days with the price of gas it would be expensive to own larger boats especially the fast ones.

Oh yeah, it would. That was back in the 80s and 90s and gas was rough then.
