Warm and sunny here, figs are happy - snow peas running out of my ears. My computer is running beautifully (for a change) and I'm feeling pretty good myself. :D

Just sayin' hi and hope to see y'all later.

(Nice "Nails" jj - you done right by Tigger :) :)

And nice PC, TT - I know you must be enjoying( or getting close to enjoying) it a lot :)

Pokey : i see the word Figs , i know we talked before about them but my ears always perk when someone mentions them i have many pics of them in containers and of ripe cut figs as its one of my favorite hobbies besides not having to work which is another one thats enjoyable.

Was thinking about some of you Gals as i was watching recording of American Pickers and they were in the Carolina's in 1 of the episodes.

I keep forgetting to ask which kind they are - I am thinking the less desirable of the two you mentioned to me. Brown Turkey, maybe? :)

Pokey i do not understand the question dear.
Which kind whose yours ?
If yours most likely brown turkey which is not highly regarded but everyones taste is different, i had one long ago and it was decent to me it was one of the first fig trees i grew.
The other dominant one in that area is called Celeste very popular back in the day for canning in the southern area's.
That fig is better and sweeter than the brown turkey fig according to many and i can attest to that.

There are a few hundred types that are self pollinating from around the world.
Nothing like a fresh ripe fig off the tree compared to the store bought ones as they have to be picked not dead ripe cause shelf life is short with them.
Figs are not like tomatoes and such they ripen no further after being picked .
I'll stop now cause i will bore all to pieces here talking about them and can go on and on about them . :)

My poor wording Dies, not you not understanding.

I meant to ask my father which type they are after you mentioned that there are two "natives" to this area. As you may recall, these are all descendants from my great- great grandmother's trees...and yes, these are trees. I helped him prune them yesterday as they were encroaching on the overhead power lines to his house, lol.

Funny thing - I don't care for the fruit - the birds do, though. But I love them as plants/trees; they give off the illusion of coolness on hot summer (spring) days with their large, fuzzy, breeze-ruffled leaves making a canopy of shade beneath them...one I used to love to hide in and under and climb upon their stretching, bouncy branches as a young girl.

They make lovely trees in warm area's here its too much work for inground cause they need winter protection but one day we move to warm climate and they will be inground !
This is one of my favorite figs that cost me an arm and a leg as it came from France and just gaining popularity here amongst the diehard fig growers .
I sold some scionwood at auction online and did very well and the plant paid for itself.
Its several years old ok now i stop ( promise) as i have about 25 other different ones from around the world....lol

Yeah, but they say that our systems can never be too clean lol

Boy, they sure cleaned my whistle when I was in the hospital and getting ready for that colostomy!

Well, our company left today and this evening son-in-law had a big fish fry at the lake! I'm not supposed to eat it, but I had a nice plate full of fried catfish, fried squash and french fries. There were probably 30 or more people there and there was plenty of food for everyone.

Tomorrow is the big family and friends fish tournament and party so there should be lots of good things to eat there too! Looking forward to that, its always a lot of fun and a lot of cheating on the fishing part and a lot of laughs.

Today was a fun, busy day and I'm just a tiny bit worn out.

LOL TT, don't you mean colonoscopy? :) I am overdue for one of those since my fraternal grandmother died from colon cancer and will have to get it done this year. Not looking forward to the day before

ETA- Hey! Maybe if I get DL to send me some figs, they will let me skip that part! LMAO
