I have a similar recipe:
8% Double RY4
5% Caramel
1% Vanilla
1% Graham Cracker
2% Peanut Butter

I am still playing with the percentages and have yet to leave any of it steeping for longer than a day or two, it is good right away. When I get my order in I will make enough to let some steep. I would have made more, but it turns out the vendor that sent my RY4 Double gave me a small bottle instead of the large one I ordered and I didn't catch it for a month when I pulled it out to use it. I was ......, but should have checked my order upon receipt. I am thinking of lowering the PB to 1%, someone who tried it said they get to much PB.

What's the matter? The "Altoids Box Mod" isn't good enough for you?

Seriously, it's so true that you have to keep detailed notes. This weekend my friend and I mixed up a 2ml batch for testing of 50/50 PG/VG "Double RY4" and a batch of "Apple Pie" (both from TFA) at about 10% without any nicotine (I know folks differ on when to add nicotine.) He was using a dripping atty and I was "direct dripping" into my REO. We took notes on what we thought and I'm glad we did.

Seemed like adding "Bavarian cream", "Caramel" at lower percentages was still good but we seemed to like it straight up just as good (these flavors are pretty much "complete" flavors to begin with.)

In the end we ended up doing away with anything other than adding the nicotine, some MTS Vape Wizard and 1% "Cotton Candy/EM" and made up 30ml of "DRY4" and 30ml of "Apple Pie."

It's trying to steep I guess but I'm vaping probably before it has a chance.

So this was our first "getting our hands wet" session into true "DIY-Land" and we both feel really good about it.

Funny thing is these flavors both taste good together at different percentages in my 6ml REO bottle.

I don't have any advice to folks wanting to try the DIY thing except read the "sticky" posts this section and above all: Keep detailed records/notes. We worked with 60mg nicotine, which is probably not that hazardous but we both wore eye-wear and I wore gloves when mixing it and when washing the cookie sheet, syringes, needles, bottle, etc.

Thanks,

Norman

About 10 days ago I mixed a batch that tastes pretty awesome today using a FA flavor I never see mentioned.
10% Double RY4 (TFA)
4% Catalan Creme (FA)

Very good, but I actually may cut back each flavor by 1% next time.

edit: oops. After looking at the label I see I forgot I also added 2 drops of vinegar and one drop of AP to 10ml. Glad I put notes on my labels.

My taste buds are not the ones to judge much really but I get a sweet cinamon cream taste. Not over the top in any of those tastes in particular. Seems to go real well with the Double RY4. Like I said earlier I may go to 8 or 9% on the DRY4 and 2 or 3% on the CC next batch. This batch is good, just seems a bit to strong on the flavors to me. I'd be willing to bet 1 to 2% on the Catalan Creme would work good as well. It gives it a nice smoothness.

Uh oh! I'm getting ready to rebuild a couple Vivi Novas for the upcoming work week. My Double RY4 has only been steeping for a week, but it smells soooo good! I'm not sure I have the strength to leave it alone

I made another 30ml of Double RY4 with some extra caramel and vanilla tonight and 30ml of sweetened Tobacco Absolute. Had I not done that and gone to put them away in the dark cabinet, my original Double RY4 might be safe.

So, I just got my TFA RY4 and Hazelnut in the mail. Made up a 10 ml batch (10% RY4, 2% hazelnut because I love nutty vape, 1% cotton candy to sweeten) and tried after shaking well. To me, there isn't much taste or smell at all. I can barely detect anything, really. Maybe if I steep it for a bit? The thing about steeping is that it -seems- to mute the flavors, in my opinion. I'm worried that steeping will make the taste less than it is now.

Actually, pretend the italicised was never there. Just a few minutes of vaping has really brought out hints of ultimate goodness. :D

I think I may have found my vape!

Wow, I want one of those fog machines, a roll of duct tape, and perhaps a stretcher. Pure love. It's insane how fast this stuff changes. I can't imagine what it would taste like after a month of steeping. Quart mason jars, here I come.

I was about to say the same thing. I actually prefer the flavor right after I make it. I started at 10%... and liked it right away... but after 2 days, it changed. I still like it but not as much. So now I'm trying 7% and seeing if when it's steeps, it's more pleasant. Otherwise I'll just have to make very small batches and vape right away.

I really like this stuff. I mix 7% to make a 12mg 75/25 juice. Funny thing is I don't let it steep. I made a 10ml batch once and let it steep and the flavors seemed muttled, but it was still good. I then made a 30ml batch and it was really good from the start, but being a 30ml batch, it took a while to use up, and the flavors are starting to muttle up again near the end of the bottle. I can't imagine it requiring any other additives, but everyone has their own tastes. I might try the RWHy4 above since I'm not going to make large batches. The flavors I get from my mix are very subtle. If I smoke a different flavor and then go back to this, I need to smoke quite a bit before the real flavors are tasted. Maybe I need to up the percentage, but I started at 5%, went to 8%, and I'll back down to 7% because it seemed like it was started to taste a little bad.

It's one of the best single flavors you can make.

I just got the same TPA ry4, mixed 10% with 50/50 nic, 36mg, it tastes really florarish!! not at all like the ry4 I have from ec blends. it has goten a bit darker, I am going to wait a week and see if gets better, if not I will cut it with some of my non flavored 36 mg nic.
by the way this is my first time DYI ing.
I also made some mad cow, and some lemon/lime, those came out good and are getting better by the day.
I am bummed with this ry4, it is my all day vape
Any advice on how to make it better would be great, it is not bad or non vapable, just not what I was expecting.
like ordering ribs and getting chicken!!

I wanted to get an RY4 flavor, so I pretty much randomly picked RY4 Type 1 from TPA. Made it at 5%, too strong, cut back to about 2%. I like it, but I don't know what to think of it. Not caramel, more citrus (pineapple?), at least to me. Is this just the initial flavor, which will change with steeping for weeks? I have not purposefully steeped a juice I've made...but some juices sort of sit around for a while, usually because I'm not overly fond of them. If I like it, I tend to just vape it. But now I'm thinking I should make a batch to just sit for a while.

Anyone else used this RY4 Type 1?

The general consensus seems to like DRY4 at 8-10% with Bavarian Cream. I tried several of the recipes offered here and this is what I have come up with. The juice start to turn a light gold, then amber and finally a dark gold. When it's transitioning from gold to amber the taste is off. The second week it starts getting darker and the flavors all taste separate. After 3-4 weeks it combines into the best tasting juice ever!:) So this is what I got :

For 30 mls

22.7 mls 50/50 12mg nic
2.7 mls DRY4
.9 mls Vanilla Butternut
4 drps. Bavarian Cream
3 drps. TA
6 Drps White Vinegar
2.1 mls Caramel

Steep 4 weeks. No cheating. ( Or mix two 30 ml if you must. ) I mix 3 30 ml bottles. One for cheating, one fully steeped, a rotating bottle for not running out while your waiting for a new bottle to steep.

If you like the caramel in the Double RY4

Then try this:

RWhy4
10% Double RY4
5% Caramel Candy ( I just use regular TFA caramel)
5% Bavarian Cream

It's my ADV, on my second 30ml 20/80 12mg. now with another 30ml steeping...creamy caramel goodness!

I ordered the flavors for this last night. I can hardly wait to try it.
