check in the rta section, there is a whole tfv4 thread.
Personally, my tfv4 did not leak with the coils it came with. But using the single coil rebuildable head, it would leak every fill. More so when using a dropper.
I figured i had a 5 second window to fill and build up pressure to prevent a leak.
But 90% of the time, i still had to stick paper towel into the airflow holes to mop up and spend the next 5 minutes trying to unflood the thing before i could use it.

Close the Air Flow while filling ;)

Op, try re-seating the coil or change it. None of mine have leaked.

I'll have to try a new coil. It leaks at pretty much all fill levels. I'm using the coil it came with, I think .3 or .5 maybe. I've tried closing air flow, obviously, but it doesn't affect the leakage

I was speaking to Filling only.
Never reduce Air flow if a tank is already Flooding. It may get much worse.

I would like to insert a smart assed comment about already knowing that..... but I wont.

In my case (and I know ive talked about this in another thread), its just not possible. On mine, you can see a slight difference in machining between the the air flow holes. When "closed", the edges of the outer ring still overlap the edges of the inner ring holes. Not much, but enough that its not actually closed. Hence, leaking still occurs. Even with the rubber ring on to help seal, not enough to help.
And top pin is loose, so seal isnt maintained.

Never had an issue with the coils themselves. So to the op, I will parrot whats already been said, make sure everything is tight. Seal not maintained with the coil leads to to fault 1 of 3 things

-coil is not tight in the base (make sure bottom of coil has the o-ring on)
-Top chimney section not tight into coil (again, make sure o-ring is on)
-Top cap isnt tight (white rubber spacer is there, helps give positive pressure to swing cap)

Smart comments aren't needed anyway. Information was to assist. I Do Not close mine and never have fill issues, but advise others as it can help. I only fill with long tip bottles leaving plenty of space for air to bleed out.

pin Tip - Next time you disassemble to clean, you may be able to tap the pin tighter while the glass is off.
* Also, I found my top seal worked better once flipped. It was smooth up and should be smooth down.

It is odd the Vape band doesn't help. :?:

My TFV4 leaked some just about every time I filled it, just a bit but enough to dirty my mod. I found that there is a film of juice in the U shaped fill slot and I assumed it caused a vapor lock that forced juice out the bottom as your filling. I remove the film by blowing down and low and behold my TFV4 doesn't leak when I fill it. There are other reasons like missing or broken orings but your atty will leak all the time then not just when filling. Closing the airflow proved useless since it doesn't seal and you can still pull with the airflow closed. Over filling is another culprit but thats user error and a easy fix.

Nexttime the itch hits me to try mine again, I will have to try the flipping of the top seal.

What pin are you talking about? Tried taking it apart and tightening everything but it still leaks. Wondering if the tightening the pin could help. Gotta try flipping the top seal also

Pin is just for loose top cap. (The pin it rides on) A proper punch or pinch at the pin mat tighten the cap back down.
Few notice, by design one is supposed to press down while swinging the cap open. there is a slight latch at the close point.

* a few TFV4's have come out with caps almost to tight to open

**Just plain leaking almost has to be Coil Head NOT seating properly.**
Head cotton packing is excellent and the Top open 10 seconds or 45 seconds should not matter.(As soon as the Top is open, there is no pressure control)

Definitely work on Top Sealing solid as this(loose) will eventually fully flood the wicking. Short filling sessions should not cause issues.
