TFV8 baby tasting funny

I just put a new coil in my tfv8 baby and it first tasted fine quickly changing to a burnt flavor which I had then cleaned some of the burned cotton off stuck in between the coil and after I had done this I waited 4 hours for it to saturate but now it just tastes funny what do I do?

Are you using a premade coil or the RBA? Also did you wash out the tank prior to swapping coils? I have the big baby and I might have left just a drop or so of water somewhere within the gasket or something and it fouled a coil. Also the first few hits off a new coil will taste a bit odd due to the cotton burning, dunno if that's what you were referring to. To fix my issue I just tossed the coil, got a new one primed it, rinsed the tank thoroughly dried it and reassembled, weird taste gone haha

You should prime your coil before you ever try it. Just drip some juice straight into the coil, fill the tank and let sit for a bit. Once you burn a coil there is very little chance of it not tasting burnt.

Where did you clean burned cotton from? As @Txaggiesaunt said you must prime a new coil every time no exceptions. Which coils are you using in the Baby Beast? I use the X4 or Quad coils in mine.

I use the X4 and the burnt cotton was right on the top and yes I primed it and I just bought a new coil and am priming it right now. The taste isn't burnt though the taste kind tastes like puke to be honest

Also make sure you break it in my working the wattage up and not starting at your sweet spot.

I've had a few of the coils taste a little funny when first changed but the taste went away after I ran a tank or so through it.

Wash the tank with warm water if that doesn't get rid of it you need to clean with soap and water.

I usually soak in rubbing alcohol or vodka. And rinse thoroughly,gets rid of any residues and smells usually.

Rubbing Alcohol can destroy seals and o-rings or even paint.

Usually use 50%, been doing it for years with no issues haha.

What juice(s) were you using? I noticed that the top rubber seal around the fill port can smell like the juice you're using. If that's the case swap that one out and soak the smelly one in a diluted or straight 50% rubbing alcohol. Be sure to thoroughly rinse after.
