Hello!

I have been using this set since last summer: Wanting to buy a new Vaporesso (kit).
All Vaporesso, two Swag kits and one Revenger X with a Cascade tank. With GT cores (#2 and/or #4).

The problem is the cores. Or better, it's me. I chain vape. When I vape, which is often, I chain vape and the cores last "nothing". With the Revenger+Cascade they may last as little as a couple of days. With the Swag up to four or five days. After that they taste bad, really bad.

The problem is not only the bad flavor. Having to change the coil so often is really a pain in the neck. Especially if you are not home.

Making small holes in the cotton with a needle before priming helps a little but not much.

I don't know if there is anything better out there, but I know that I am not going to make my own coils. I need something that I can simply buy, install and use. If it can work with the tanks I already have, it's even better. But I can just buy everything new, if it is going to be able to sustain my chain vaping a little longer.

By the way, I was given a Smoketech Baby Beast coil to try, since it is compatible with my tanks, but I did not see any improvement.

RTA and TC. The Vaporesso mods do a decent job at TC on SS316L. Switching to an RTA with a SS316L build on the mod set to SS TC will mean changing your coils far less frequently and changing your cotton about as frequently as you used to change your coils. You'll see an improvement in longevity, and a reduction in cost.

I only have a few sub ohm tanks, but of those, the NRG has the best coils. Freemax mesh pro is pretty good too, but it’s no better at chain vaping than the vaporesso coils. Might try that, or innoken Zenith.

I don’t want to say you have to build if you want robust coil life, (although it’s true but I doubt you want to hear that) but building is easier than you might think.

....... I'd also like to know what your definition of chain vaping is. How many hits a day and how much total time. And when you say 75/25 juice, are you saying pg/vg or vg/pg?
My daily average is 15ml/day. Quite constant.
And I meant 75 VG, 25 PG.
I used to do Max VG but then I increased the PG to see if it could improve things a little bit.

Rebuilding? Nope. I don't want to mess with the coils. Maybe replacing the cotton? I see Shawn Hoefer mentioned RTA which by a quick google search I see they can be purchased and rebuilt ....

It looks like the profile mesh RDA by wotofo is easy to put the coil in. So easy that you wouldn't have to worry about the coil touching anything other then the posts. It's just one strip of mesh in a semi circle . The cotton would be the hardest part. I don't have this rda but I saw some videos and it looks really really easy to build. Also gets great reviews for flavor, especially with the nexmesh coil alternative. I might get this , and try it out myself.

Longer lasting coils? I'd like to hear the answer to that.
temp control saves money dude, longer lasting coils... well, cotton ... takes always the worst part, but also since coils aren't worn so fast cotton tend to last a bit more...and liquid... well liquid consumption is something you will notice... for sure

I would try SS316L coils and temp control to prevent overzealous vaping and lack of wicking destroying your coils so quickly. With a well heeled TC mod you should never get dry or burned hits and should be able to extend coil life by a good margin. And this is with the equipment you already own, IF the chipset in your mod actually does good TC. I haven't used that mod so I have no idea and many so called TC mods really do terrible TC and are basically worthless for that.

The other option would be to look at mods that have DNA chips inside since I know they cured this same issue for me. I rarely have to change coils in less than 3 weeks when previously I would burn coils at about the same rate as you. For the cost of a coil and a bit of testing in TC you might get the vape you want and longer lasting coils without having to purchase everything new and still be able to use your tanks and easy to change coils.

Temp Control is an option but when dealing with a subohm tank, especially the OP’s Vaporesso NRG SE and Cascade, our options for TC compatible coils becomes limited. Changing the tank is an option but the Swag is limited to 22mm tanks max.

I own both of these tanks and shadow the OP’s experiences when using GT2 and GT4 coils. The GT Mesh enjoys a much longer lifespan in comparison. Depending on juice, I have found up to a month.

Fist of all thank you very much to all for all the suggestions. Really.
The mesh coils I probably the simple thing to try first, and see how it goes. I'll try it and report of any improvement or lack of :D.

Good luck. But just to note, take my “month” claim with a grain of salt. My vaping habits could be vastly different than yours although I never experienced a problem chain vaping high VG (up to 80%) with the GT Mesh, high sweetener content within your juice can also play a huge role in a coils longevity.

A quote from Vaporesso support about coils.

"support@vaporesso.com responded to my query with the revelation that their GT ccell is SS:

Very glad for your choosing Vaporesso.

The metal type of GT core is Nickel-chromium alloy and you can not vape under TC mode, but our GT ccell core`s wire is SS, then you can vape under TC mode. Enjoy your vaping."

And of course the TC coils will be subohm, since that is what almost all mod makers require for TC and how TC works best at detecting temp/resistance changes.

I understand many don't like TC, and that's fine. But to counter lack of wicking to keep up with chain vaping and burning coils, it's certainly a cheap option to explore if his mod will do reasonable TC, which I have no idea.

What I do is a cocktail of about 25% kaisvirginvapor's Black Velvet and 15%-20% Menthol from the same brand. Both are pure VG. The rest is unflavored 75VG/25PG juice that I buy locally since Kai's does not offer it. So, in reality the end result is more VG than the previously stated 75%.

I say increase nic , which will make you vape alot less, which in turn will extend coil life.....15mls is quite a lot and chain vaping , well not great either. Go mtl at 18mg and you might see your juice consumption go down to perhaps 4mls per day, that means at least 4x' s the coil life. I know this is not something you probably would do, but its certainty another way to extend coil life......

The Vaporesso GT CCELL ceramics are stainless steel as well. Don’t need to build to use tc. I only use the GT CCELLs when using a Cascade Baby SE or NRG drop in coil
