The charger in the OP pic looks similar to one that I have. I'm sure the charger is fine (even though the charger is cheap...just like mine). But I would not use unprotected batteries, just as the OP said.

I wonder if a couple of protected 16340 batteries would fit in there to make it 6 volts. And if you do that, use a HV atty as well.

I have used the charger to charge protected AW 18650s and it is fine, just takes longer than my other charger.

Considering the cheapness (quality of build) and some preliminary numbers I have found, I wouldn't attempt to fire it at 6 volts, even with protected or LifePo4 batts. Do they fit? Yes they do. Would I use a designed 3.7V device at 6V? NO!

I carried the 1300's which were fine. I don't even know how you guys got that thing. The manufacturer told me a month ago they were catching fire so the 3000 idea was scrapped.

I talked to Max live on skype at the time. I have suggested to them over a month ago (when I received my 1300's from them) to make the next version so that it can be opened from the bottom to replace dead batteries (like the mods). 2x 18650 protected batteries with an opening at the bottom for replacing would be ace. I wish the 3000 would have worked out myself. But Max suggested I do not carry them, now I see why. The 1300's work fine, I've had 4 1300's returned to me (out of 20) because they crapped out after a week. But still just like other ego's, you can't replace the batteries inside. The 1300's are too long IMO. This time I went with Joye's 900mah eGo's since I have never tried a genuine Joye ego. The slightly higher price should be worth it for the longer warranty. Hopefully 900 this will last me all day before recharging.

Thanks for the banner compliment... it cost me a 650 ego kit to have that made.. LOL

Hence my move to Joye :)

The biggest problem for suppliers was being forced to order x number of kits and also being forced to sell them for x amount of $. I hated the look of the cone, and was against the whole thing. Why sell an ugly item marked up so much? To me it wasn't fair to customers.
The main reason I tried Bauway to begin with was less cost per kit and zero moq. For the price the products aren't bad, when you get one that works.
But now that there is lower moq I can afford to buy a few at a time and offer them at any price so I am giving Joye a shot.
I like the fact that we now can choose between a cone or a mega atty. Have you seen the mega atty's on this sucker? They're Bleepin' HUGE!

Use this as a paper weight, Bro..
Thanks for the email for this and I'm glad you did this rather than I. I would have ripped them (Bauway) BIG TIME!!
It has been said over and over again, you get what you pay for. JoyE has a good reputation wrt the quality of their products. A 20% failure rate on batteries definitely cuts into profit, and from a vendors perspective totally unacceptable.

Wrt products as a whole, unless we as a vaping community hold these shawdy mfrs accountable (by not buying their crap) they will continue to sell it. The CE2 carto is a prime example of that and Eastmall $3 atties. I enjoy my 3-5 month atties without maintenance at $6 a pop. I demand a carto that is ready to vape straight out of the box, same as with atties. I do not want nor should I have to wash them let alone dry burn them before I use them. IMHO that is a piss poor excuse for crappy workmanship, yet I constantly see folks defending it. Ya I would have been peed paying full retail value for this POS.

For folks thinking I am loaded, I'm retired living on a pension, I just choose to spend wisely, that is all.

These work with the Trustfire TF18650 the one with the flames pack. unfortunately yes the switch is crap. killed it in 2 hours.
Ive dismantled the switch and they use a pcb switch that has wires and stuff.

If they used a mechanical switch like that of the indulgence and then used a 510 sealed connection then this would be a good product.

The threads are ok little similar to an indulgence so no worries on how long they will last. They can scrap the cone as it is useless.

I also sent my notes to improve it but looks like they are not listening or just dont give out feedback from the engineers.

I'm hard pressed to even write a review for it. I don't have much to say that's positive about it. My whole experience was horrid; from ordering it, them taking two weeks to ship it, my getting it, the rancid juice in the cartridges and cartomizers, the poor quality of the unit itself, one of two doa atomizers, ill fitting cartridges, the heat and TH being way over the top (due to the bridge being too low in the atomizer and the cart filler not touching it properly), and them not responding to my emails regarding it all.

If I had to sum it up in two words they'd be "never again".

Do you have a pic or item number of those batteries that fit in the 155d? I have protected TF 18650 2400mah from Madvapes and they don't fit. They're too wide.

I just got my order and, well, it seems really cheap. One of them has a squashed coil in the bottom rendering it useless. Hopefully, I can pry it up with some tweezers or something. That's annoying.

Are your 18650's the grey ones? they have a slightly wider diameter than the black/flame 18650's

Candlepowerforum has a nice comparison chart showing the diameter/length of the different 18650 batteries

They're the ones with flames. Thanks for the link, I'm sure I'll find something there.

-edit- I looked and it seems the ones I have are some of the thinnest. Would it be a problem if I removed the wrapper from the battery and covered that metal strip from bottom to top with tape? It fits and it's working, but I'm a bit nervous...

If anyone's interested, these fit in my 155D: Protected 18650 Battery, 3000 mah

They must have changed something or shipped different diameter tubes.

-edit- I spoke too soon. I got two of these batteries. One fits perfectly. The other one fits, but is tight and inserting and removing is likely going to rip the battery wrapper at some point.

I don't understand why they call it an Ego. It sounds like it is more like an Indulgence or any of the other 18650 mods. Like I said in an earlier post, I like the Bauway 1300 Ego because it lasts about 18 hrs and you can use the LR Mega Attys with them. The only problem is the batteries aren't very reliable. I had one arrive DOA and another died when I dropped it about two feet. The one I have left works real good though and I will purchase more batteries if the one I have left continues to function well.

Txtumbleweed, I have 4 of the Bauway ego 1300mAh batteries, 2 black and 2 silver. They all work well and last me all day into the next. I do NOT like the Bauway "mega cartomizers" for it. Though they hold 3ml of juice, they are not working well with the factory juice inside. I want to empty one and fill it myself with a syringe, however I just can't use it enough to empty it. I keep picking up my Leo instead. The vapor out of them is minimal, at best, and the juice flavors are weak tasting, if not nasty (I have cappuccino and mint flavors). The mint vapors nicely, but tastes like I made out with a koala bear. The cappuccino is just so weak or watered down there's barely any vapor. Every day I pick them up and take a few puffs hoping the flavor and vapor will change... to my dismay.

As for the 3000mAh Mega Ego, Bauway made a mistake naming it that. It has nothing to do with "Ego", doesn't look like one, and so on. They put the Ego name in it because that is the most 'searched' for e-cigarette, I'm sure. The thing looks more like a giant 170mm round from a gun than anything else. They should have named it aptly "Cannon fodder", because it is fodder.
