I am not going to join FB just to comment on this ... however, I am going to follow it, to see how big this gets.

it was posted only 11hrs ago and has over 2,000 quit smoking posts ... most are about vaping

I hope the ACS social media guy posted it at the end of his shift ... he'll come in tomorrow and go ... let's see how my FB post is doing

dude, BT called ... you're fired :smokie:

Posted as well! I'm sure they didn't expect their question to blow up the way it did! ! Without vaping maybe they would have had 10 total replies.. it's incredible how many success stories there are because of vaping!
Thank you op for posting this!
Happy vaping everyone :)

I may sound cynical, but let's just wait and see how many of those posts will still be there in a while.

It's not the first time some liar's association tried to cover the FACTS from the general public. :(

NCI lies about the effectiveness of e-cigarettes, via deletion and explicitly | Anti-THR Lies and related topics

Of couse, if that happens again, then we will see them for what they really are. And maybe some other folks outside the vaping world will begin to see that too. :)

ETA:

Of course, I'm not advocating that there's no point in leaving our testimonials there. In fact, *if* they decide to go down that road, the more comments we leave, the more trouble they'll have in covering up the evidence.

I'm very glad this smoker found a method that worked. Some of the articles look interesting, but this never would have worked for me. It's too negative and I resent being told anything is the "Best Way."

[The poster quit] Cold Turkey with the help of "WhyQuit.com is the best way. They have a whole library of videos and education on quitting smoking.. along with many members as support systems who are also quitting cold turkey.

WhyQuit - #1 quit smoking site
Ready to quit smoking and end nicotine use? More stop smoking cold turkey than by all other methods...
WHYQUIT.COM
I saw that post and had to comment on it.

I also left my story in the main comments. I have it saved to a word document and pull it up for any of these types of things. I have to edit as the time frame changes. I think it currently says I've been smoke free for 38 months, next time I copy and paste it to another place it will have to be edited to reflect the new amount of months.

It's a great way to easily insert my story when these types of comments are needed. :)
Unfortunately it can be a rather long post.

ditto and done.
I did notice some posts from folks who quit cold turkey. Didn't see any that gave credit to patches or gum.
though its true roughly 30% of smokers will become dependent on smoking
70% do not develop a dependency. note; i am not saying one can't go cold turkey
and suffer through the withdrawals just, saying going cold turkey isn't a big
a thing as its made out to be.
Had I not deactivated my FB account several months ago, I would post something. :(
you can reactivate your old account by using your old user name/email address and password.

mike

I did leave comment yesterday. Today somehow or another, I can't find the comments and OP's link no longer sends to that particular page. I'm stoopid on the computer, so.......:(

It's all still there... :D

The problem here is that the ACS (and ALA, CDC, NIH, WHO...), at an institutional level, considers vaping to be the same thing as smoking. In their world, none of us have actually 'quit' smoking so long as we continue to vape. o_O
We know the difference quite well, but they don't get it at all.

Their report or press release on this (if it ever happens) will likely start with: "Even though many testimonials were provided by those who have switched to smoking electronic cigarettes...yada yada...etc..."

Thanks to everyone for signing though, even if it's just to mess with 'em a bit. :D
