I bought my straws at Walmart. They are exactly 2 mm in width. The description says:

SIP-STIRS
For Beverages of All Kinds

100 STIRRER STRAWS
5 1/4" LONG

"A Party's Best Friend"

Packed by SOODHALTER PLASTICS INC.
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA 90021

I've tried several blue foam mods and they never seemed to work really well. I've always used PTB in my recent endeavors. HOWEVER, for some really odd reason, this one works really well. It's easy to make/refill and seems to be wicking much better than any of the other blue foam mods I've tried (and I've tried a few). It uses more foam than some of the other mods, but most of it goes into the straw so that may be why.

Anyway, I'm going to use this one a while. I'm using PG juice that is fairly thin at the moment, but about to try some VG juice that is a little thicker. If it works well for that, it will be my all-around-mod since it's working well for me. I'm kinda surprised actually. BTW, I have been drying it with a paper towel before putting it back in after a refill as mentioned. That seems to help a lot with the problem I had in the past where the blue foam would eventually bunch up really small and not work well.

I also made a cardboard cutout of the exact size needed for the blue foam and that makes it very easy to replicate.

Here is a picture of the straws.

Slyice, those are the stirrers I'm using. Also, you are absolutely correct about drying out the foam between fill ups. Honestly, I don't know why this method empties the cart every time but it does for me.
As for the eclypse thing, I really don't give a damn. I just wanted to pass this method along because it works better and more consistantly than anything else I've tried.
NO MORE DRIPPING FOR ME!

Add me to the list of those going to try this type of mod, have tried all the rest and yes each has worked, some better than others and some longer than others but all worked as claimed. Main point is WE all are looking for that perfect vape and with each others help WE will find it
Well said my neighbor to the north! I'd just like to see some people try this and let me know if it works as advertised. The method of delivery for e-juice is really the biggest problem we face. New people who try vaping give up because of how badly the stock systems work. From what I've read, the only methods that consistently deliver the juice are The Juice Box, The GG AFS system and, when it actually is released, the Janty Tesla system. I know cartomizers seem to work but the ones I've tried just don't deliver the vapor I need. I'm sure I've missed something and someone will point it out.
While dripping tastes great, it's just too much hassle for me to deal with.
Until something better comes along, this is working for me.

welll, lets say I'm too broke to go get little tiny straws like the ones you are using in your pictures (I'm actually just lazy lol) but I do have the blue foam as my roomate has tons of fish tanks in our apartment. would there be any difference if I were to use regular straws ( the straws I have are the ones that come in a 600 pack and they have the part on the top where you can angle the straw), would the straws work the same?

I have tried using regular straws and it didn't work for me. That's not to say it won't for you. The difference is that by using stirrers instead of straws, the foam is held in place more firmly and can be easily removed and replaced after refilling. Also, the biggest problem is draining the carts dry. It just didn't work for me but for some unknown reason it works with the stirrer. Any place that serves liquor will have stirrers. You need a drink, don't you?

If only I was 21, I'd hop down to the bar across the street, but I'm 19 lol. I guess I'll have to get unlazy sooner or later. thanks pete for clarifying your reasoning with the stirrer.

Thanks for the inspiration Pete54, I made your dart cart filler except I didn't have any blue foam, so I used one of those no scratch scrubber pads instead (like Kristin's mod), and believe it or not it works great too.
I've been vaping for a couple hours on a cart using this mod, and it's working very well, better than the last couple mods I've tried. We'll see how it goes in a couple more days, but for now it seems to be a winner.
I've attached a pic of what the dart looks like using the scrubbing pad (I also cut the straw at a slant on the bottom just to see if it makes any difference).

Hey, dahdahdan. I've tried the bigger straws also with not much luck. They "worked" in a way, but it didn't seem to grab the juice as much. The closest I got before this mod was a very small piece of the blue foam on top of a big straw, but like Pete54 said, it was a PITA to refill/replace because of the small foam size and it didn't seem to hold as much or vape completely dry.

I've made 8 of these trying out different juices and they all seem to work well. Again, only time will tell as I've just about tried every mod out there, but this one is the easiest blue foam mod to maintain that I've found and works just as good or better than the rest.

I've only been using a PV since Dec 6th and just now got back with some LorAnn's flavorings from Hobby Lobby to make my juice flavor stronger. Man ... like someone said before - Smoking was a habit, but vaping is an obsession. Loving my Watermelon and Butter Rum at the moment (not mixed together of course)

Looks perfect to me.:) The principle will probably work with most fillers.

Excuse me, but can someone clarify the measurements given in the first post. None of my rulers in mm seem to be anywhere close to what I think the actual measurements should be.

Sure.. Its your lucky day as i have a digital caliper and clear it up for ya.

The straw is about a half inch long.

The foam is about 3/4" long or a hair less.

The width of the top of the foam piece is about 5 8ths of an inch.

The width at the bottom of the foam is about a half inch.
