Thanks for mentioning that. I just realized I screwed up. I read about the switch in the charger ad when I bought it but forgot about it when I got it. So I've been charging my batteries on the 3 volt setting without knowing it. That probably explains why I had such a low run time with the AW batteries. I'll have to report later what my results are on 3.6.

Well, my results from my first charge of the AW batteries at 3.6 volts is around 11 hours runtime. So it looks like I have the Trustfire batteries on order for nothing because 11 hours runtime is plenty for me. :vapor:

Madvapes is loading now and his protected 18350 is from Ultafire, so I guess they do make one. It claims to be 1200mAh but I'm guessing it's really around 800 to 900mAh
I run two 18350s (generic from EM) in my indulgence with a 5V RIT and it will last all day and then some. The way the materials are folded into the battery casing, li-ion batteries are more efficient per unit of volume with thicker cells. Combine that with the 30% larger volume of an 18350 vs a 16340 (8900mm2 vs 6800mm2) and the additional capacity is very believable.

I got my BUZZ and try to "play" with new "toy" :) (Buzz, thank you alot for a very good device.)
I checked the voltage on BUZZ without atty and without turn device on. I got 0.054V on my fluke. Is it a normal state?

Yes that is a Quiescent current from the IC ( I.E. or very small current like 10uA , it would take about 1 year to drain the battery ! ) it is part of the IC design it will not lower the battery life that you would notice. :vapor:

Been following this thread with great interest and this PV sounds like the Holy Grail of PVs. Buzz you stated that you're considering a modification on the next run so that the unit can accomidate 18350 batts, when will this run be? Just want to see when that is and determine if I can wait that long.

Jumpy I have about 200 units left , the change will take place after those are gone sorry to say but it is what it is . I found another MFG for the tube that will make the change and not charge me $500 each !

You can never have too many batteries. At least you figured out what the problem was :)

I wanna hear just one thing bad about it. :) Come on, be brave. :) I'm so close to breaking even with vaping, I don't really need a Buzz, do I?

I keep trying to press the LED instead of the button then wonder why it isn't working

I can see the 18350s lasting all day. On the Candlepower forum they claim 16340 batteries test out at 435mAh to 500mAh depending on the brand. The ultrafire 18350s test out at 850mAh, so they're almost double the mAh of 16340s.

Edit: I just wonder how much heavier that will make that Buzz?

Edit again: I just found the answer. It will be 10 grams heavier.

With the AW batteries it weighs 100 grams or 3.5 oz. 10 grams is about the weight of a 801 atty so it isn't going to add much to it. Then you do have to consider that their will actually be less weight to the Buzz if he is going to have the inside diameter made larger, means less aluminum to the body. So in the end it may actually weigh the same.

BTW on the next production run of the BUZZ I am going to machine it to fit 18350 batteries that are 1200mah , I could not get that done this time around .
Will you be offering the new barrel at a good price for current owners to upgrade? ;) Paleeez? :D

Damn, probably need new end caps as well, no?
