do NOT try to move the pot inside of the unit this can cause it to become unsoldered !

I am now epoxying the pot into place to keep this from happening in the future , not all of them are perfectly centered but that is OK ( move it .020" and it is off ! ) as long as you can adjust it do NOT try to move it.

I have some units out there that the pot is not epoxied on, IF they break or fail I will fix them Free ! no problem.

These unit's have PC boards in them and we are finding the weak spots and are fixing them ! This is not uncommon for electronic devices and we are no different than any other electronics company.

How would you even try to move it? Wouldn't you have to take the top of the Buzz off to do that?

Those type of pots are not hard to move so don't put alot of pressure on it when you adjust it.

It is a surface mounted pot they are not through hole types , so they can be moved IF not epoxied down ( as I found out after a while ) I am looking into going to a through hole type in the future this will eliminate this issue. I am now epoxying them to the PCB ( very few went out with no epoxy ! ) those that did I will fix at NO cost.

Not on the new units ( they are epoxied to the PCB ) , on the older units it takes a bit of force to move them and can cause the surface mount pads to lift that will cause a failure.

I am being 100% upfront with everybody , ( sometimes not the best idea but ? ) and will fix all issues on any units that are NOT user caused.

I know this will scare some people off BUT I believe that being up front and dealing with these issues is the best policy.

TO date I have had 2 units fail this way , both have been fixed free of charge with a 1 day turn around.

I will look into the through hole Pots ( damn why didnt I think of this earlier ??? )

See you guys are helping to make the unit better , some of these things do not show up in Beta testing.

I just tried to redo the PCB with a thru hole pot NOW I remember why I did not do it !

NO ROOM ! so far the epoxied pots are very strong I put a good amount on them and it is good epoxy , I have tried prying them off of the board and it is hard to do , If you manage to move them you are pushing WAY TO HARD.

If your order # is over say 30 you are OK !

Guys Just do not HAMMER the pot and you should be OK ! , if there are problems down the road I WILL fix them !!

As I said any problems will be fixed , do NOT freak out I had one time that someone tried to center the pot and broke it ! .

If you do not TORQUE the pot it will be fine

Give Buzzkill a break folks...he posted the issue as a heads up and already stated if there was a problem he'd stand behind it and it would be fixed. He's been working his tail off to get these mods to us in a timely fashion. No mod is absolutely perfect. What is important is his willingness to own the issue and be upfront about it.

Hang in there Buzzkill..they'll stop panicking soon...LOL!

I'm not panicking I just asked a simple question. I don't doubt Mike will stand by his product. The only thing asked by a couple people was whether their buzz had the epoxy applied or not.

I've been away for a few days and am way behind on posts. However I was order 25 and have absolutely no problems so far, and I do know if I ever do that Buzz will take care of it. I do appreciate the heads up about the pot. I hardly touch mine, but will be careful when I do.

I haven't had my atty off or checked the voltage in 7-10 days and when I did last night it was still exactly where it had been, no change

My favorite atty has been the 302 atty on my other PV at 3.7 volts. Well then I was sent a 2.0ohm LR 801 atty and put that in place of the 302 atty. Used it for several days then switched back to the 302 atty. I was so bummed, I had gotten so use to the LR 801 atty that my beloved 302 atty seemed weak. Then came The Buzz!!! I played with the voltage until my 302 atty hit like the LR 801 atty. So I am once again a very happy camper. I run my 302 atty on the Buzz at 4.6volts and my LR atty on the 3.7 mod and can go back and forth with hardly any difference between them now. Now I can continue to use the stock pile of 302 attys I have

I'm guessing the one I have is < #20.

I can see where someone may try and force the potentiometer to centre it in the hole and do damage.

I can't see it ever being an issue as long as no lateral pressure is applied or you don't push down on it from above with anything.
