Read recently that nicotine is the LEAST addictive component of cigarette smoking.
Yeah I see that fly by now and again but it begs the question. I mean, why would
vaping exist at all? It was invented as a substitute delivery system for nicotine based on the assumption nicotine was the primary addiction in smokers.
And it works.
If nicotine was not the primary addictive substance in smoking, how did
vaping get off the ground at all? Why wouldn't we all be
vaping the other substance or substances that are the primary addictions instead of the least addictive?
I just can't reconcile how well vaping works and how
fast the adoption among smokers is going with the idea that nicotine is the "least addictive" substance. Where are all the horrible, terrible, nightmarish withdrawal symptoms? I remember quitting "cold turkey". I sometimes still wake up screaming (okay, just being silly there but it does give me a bit of a shiver).
In my own case, at least, NRT
almost worked. And was the only thing that showed any real effectiveness at all. But look at the extreme low levels the approved NRT has. Nic gum is 2 and 4mg. I got to the point, with the gum, I was causing myself problems in my mouth because I had to use so freaking much of it. If tried vaping at those levels (and, remember, the primary absorption in vaping is also via the mouth like the gum), I'd have to attach my PV to my face or something and just breathe vapor non-stop.
Nic gum is actually a cruel joke. It's set to far, far too low a level for the more addicted smokers to ever succeed with and then you're told to "step down" and "quit" in a very short time frame. You're pretty much guaranteed to end up on a treadmill of switching back and forth between the gum and the cigs and... oh, hey, more gum sales, more profit!
Nah. That's gotta be coincidence.
Anyway, I just can't buy that one. Vaping wouldn't be the threat BT sees it as if nic wasn't the primary addiction. Vaping would be a fad, flare up a bit, then fade away as smokers went back to their real addiction.
Instead, we're switching in droves and BT is in a panic...
