How's everybody doing tonight? I'm enjoying a quite period before I have to drag myself to the kitchen to start mixing and packaging homemade dog food.
We started home cooking for our dogs about 2 years ago when we got a bad batch of commercial food. We just cook up about 80 pounds of meat, veggies and rice, grind it all together and we've got dog food for the week. Takes about 3.5 hours start to finish, but fortunately there's a lot of down time while we're waiting for things to cook.
That's just plain awesome, Sallie. Eighty pounds of meat. OMG. How many dogs do you have?
80# of meat? And I thought I had a big cauldron!

poor Violie! My guys are eating Eukenuba, it's the only food that their hair does not fall out. Boxers have funky skin. I tried cooking for them when the dog food crisis was going on, but it was impossible on the truck. We tried every organic on the market and their hair kept falling out. So back to the Eukenuba we went and they look good now.
How about a bit of fun tonight? What was your most embarrassing moment? Of course I will start, I have plenty of oopsies that are funny now, not when they happened.
Mr. V and I were looking for a house and went to tour a model log home. I went to walk out on the deck and walked smack into the screen door. Bad enough that every one noticed, and the place was packed. Of course Mr. V was humiliated, because I cracked up. We did not go back...

There is a video of me calling a Senate committee a "bunch of self-serving thugs".. that wasn't a proud moment for me.
Other than that I once cooked for a date and she broke out in hives. I walked into a pool with a BlackBerry a few years back. Hrmm. Yeah, I don't like this game. -Magnus

We almost went the home-made dog food route with our shepherd. The amount of work to go into it though scared us off. We ended up choosing Blue Buffalo for her. Over 2 years old now and the vet says she couldn't be in better health.

I went to the local Trader Joe's on Sunday and traded friendly conversation with the cashier and then, while I was running my card through and she took over bagging, she suddenly goes, "Oh hey! I know you!" and holds up one of the Trader Joe bags that has a seam 2" unraveled. Great, known by my raggedy bag.
Then there's the time I jumped up from the floor and gave myself a black eye on the wall in a feat of exceptional clumsiness. The embarrassing part was attempting to explain with any shred of dignity why I had a black eye at work for the next week!

We tried blue buffalo for ours but after reading about the "life pellets" not digesting and causing problems made us steer away. She isn't eating the best food right now but its what we can afford since I lost my job...
