I think it's one of those things where either you can or you can't (like rolling/curling your tongue). I don't think there's any learning. I've tried

I'm browsing the forums to stay awake :glare: I'm so freaking exhausted. I've already had one red bull. I still have 5.5 hours left in my shift. Don't want to drink the other one too soon and still end up this tired towards the end *sigh*

Been spending the last half hour trying to teach myself to raise one eyebrow. Thomas and Skyler can do it, but Kealey and I cannot. *sigh*
I had to take a break from it because I was making my face hurt.

Can you guys do it?

We lost. :(

We got killed in the first inning. Got down 1-11. But by the time we ended the third inning, we finished the game strong 8-16. I was proud of my girls. Where as they were swinging, the other team was happy to be walked. They had ONE hit the whole game. We had 4 hits. Before the game started, I asked them what is important. I got all good answers. None said winning. At this stage, Im happy to hear answers like, having fun, paying attention, doing their best. I kept the line up pretty much the same. I rotated in my substitutes to make sure everyone had a chance to play. I had to rotate out my pitcher because she started getting tired and making terrible TERRIBLE pitches. Had to switch out my catcher because her legs/knees started hurting. Neither of which I could say anything bad about having to take them out.

I'm with you Fv about James leaving them in the position
they are used to.... give them a chance to win and to
get good at their position...then if they want to try a new
position, move them then..:2c:

something I've been wondering ..who made up the rule you must not keep
score or to win in order to have fun?..:?:
Last team my grandson played on no score keeping..
HAHA! We dont keep score in t-ball. All we are trying to do at that level is just teach the kids the game. Once they move into baseball or softball, 6 years old, score is kept.

I made a deal with my assistant coach. We have 10 games before the post season tournaments. We will do four games her way, then I will pick the strongest lineup for the last 6 to get them well versed in set positions. The only problem with this, is that we will deal with the same problem we had tonight. Without a really good pitcher, everyone gets walked. When everyone walks, you really cant get a feel for how well each girl does in a given position. But we'll manage.

Really no score keeping...wth?...I was told that if
scores were kept there would be a winner and a loser..huh?
and playing the game is just to have fun....
what's there to work hard for then?
how do they learn how to be gracious winners
and not be sore losers???...
This is one reason I dont mind losing. My girls (last year too) were unbeliveabley gracious in defeat. We had a winless season, and of course they werent happy about it. But they took it in stride and got better and better as the season progressed. THAT is what I was really looking for. Thats what I still want to see. Once we get to the next league, then I will start focusing harder on winning than teaching the game itself.

Was it the guy that was asking $400? 8-o (I think he's nuts!)

Really good stuff - that oatmeal bath stuff.... Aveeno??? It takes the itchies out of chicken pox too!

I used to give the docs a hard time when I was in the Navy. They used these outdated height/weight charts that said I was overweight. You've seen my pic in my avi, I'm 5'8" and about 140lbs. They totally ignored bone structure! If I lost the 20lbs their charts said I should, I'd look anorexic!
According to docs, I should be 170... Really?!? Im 5'11" with a 19" neck. I can prolly hit 180, but not 170. Last time I was 170, was right out of boot camp. 32" waist, 14.5 inch neck. Still had moobs though. Stoopid moobs.

feel better okra..:)
you should lie down and get rest..
^^^What she said. :D
