While there is a lull, I figured I'd show everyone my fur children. Max is the chocolate lab / pit mix and Oke (short for "Okelani", meaning heaven sent I. Hawaiian, and trust me he is 
) is the yellow lab.
I'll get pictures of the bunny and fishies sometime too.

The only way I could get my three to sit for me like that is if I was holding a cookie in my mouth while shooting the picture. Of course Simon would probably be jumping at my face trying to snatch it away, so we'd end up with a picture of Simon's nose!

I needed some cheering up myself. My last surviving grandparent, my dad's mom, passed today. On my dad's birthday. So it's a rough one. But looking at those 2 always puts a smile on my face.
The only way I could get my three to sit for me like that is if I was holding a cookie in my mouth while shooting the picture. Of course Simon would probably be jumping at my face trying to snatch it away, so we'd end up with a picture of Simon's nose!

So whenever I whip out my Nikon or phone, he poses for me. Max is more reserved. He'll look, but I think he might be scared of the flash. So I have to say, "Who wants a treat?" where he's concerned.

Mine would not sit like that at all. Jake would be grumpy for having to actually having to sit instead of lay, and Victor would be pulling a Simon. I would end up flat on the ground with facial injuries, you know, looking like 36 hit me with the faceball bat!

I'm sorry that you lost your grandpa, that is awful. The like was for your babies cheering you up. Amazing how they help us through the really rough times.

He had just blown out an ACL and was confined to the deck in that picture. Poor baby.

SummerDawn, I've had a bunch of losses this year, too. I can only say keep on going. It hurts and the only thing that keeps me sane is diversions. I think your two guys look like steller diversions! Have you ever gotten them the treat balls you stuff with treats and they have to chase it around until it drops one? My bassett loved that thing. It was funny to watch her!

You're very sweet.They both have Kongs, but that treat ball sounds like much more fun. Especially to watch. I'm gonna have to look for one!
I like to fill the kongs with peanut butter and watch them lick it out. I think it's more entertainment for me than it is for them. Heck, I like to smear peanut butter on their noses and watch them lick it off. Nothing more fun in my book than a dog licking peanut butter off something.
