One last post (I spam in three's), by going back to the main CC root thread, I see there was at least one more "split" off of this CCChat ?? I admin a large forum with databases that push my host's limits, and wasn't sure if the admins here split this topic for a reason ?

Not sure about the reason, but a while back a lot of the really large threads were split. There was no notice given to the suppliers, just BAM, old thread closed new one opened. Needless to say, suppliers were miffed, went back and re-opened the old threads. I think it went back and forth like that for half a day before the admins stopped trying to close the old threads.

I think after 2 or 3 it's a lost cause. At least they aren't married.

I had to stop watching Maurey (and Jerry Springer) because it always ticks me off. I get mad seeing people that are so stupid.

LOL, I see now. Well, not wanting to step on any admins here, large threads do start to load down the server, and in extreme cases can slow the overall forum. I've had some so big they almost crashed the entire forum. Now there ARE ways around this, and newer optimizations and caching can help. Glad to see you guys took it back. I won't tell.

That is exactly what happened. We all thought we had been hacked as we weren't told about it. Just our threads closed by "guest". Not a fun day. We were all freaking out. At some point they may split them again, or tell us to. As long as we are warned and can do it ourselves I am ok with it. I'm not ok with a zillion emails that the threads are wonky and people are all freaking out. We do have the backup on facebook if necessary.

No Mr. V for hours now. Might have to go peek in there.....
