    Janie......

The. three most basic units in electricity are voltage (V), current (I, uppercase "i") and resistance (r). Voltage is measured in volts, current is measured in amps and resistance is measured in ohms.

A neat analogy to help understand these terms is a system of plumbing pipes. The voltage is equivalent to the water pressure, the current is equivalent to the flow rate, and the resistance is like the pipe size.

If the water in the pipe doesn't work for you, think about it like this. If you are traveling downhill in your car with NO brakes, you will go quite fast (i.e. greater current flow), IF you start to apply the brakes somewhat that RESISTS your speed and you start to slow down some (less current flow). If you apply the brakes harder they RESIST your speed even more and you slow down further (even less current flow). Resistors, resistance, atomizers, cartomizers all RESIST current flow. The less they resist (lower resistance) the more current flows, and vice versa.

Lower resistance attys and cartos will ALLOW more current to flow, more vapor, warmer vape. Higher resistance attys and cartos RESIST more current flow, so less vapor and a cooler vape. If you go to the extremes, your Provari will error out to protect you. If the resistance gets TOO low, meaning there is little to no resistance, current could flow way too high, so it errors out.

OK - figure I'll ask here.

What is the state of the art in leak proof tanks? I'm reading about threaded and o-rings and I'm still not buying their sealed properly yet. And since I'm a cynic - I need somebody else to convince me it's worth risking a leak on a "no leak" tank. ;-)

    Sooo... what says you? -Magnus

Well I've been using and abusing my Phiniac tanks, dropped them, knocked them over, had them upside down for hours, and even took a tumble with the Provari with big batt and extended caps. ZERO leaks.

You add about 3 more drops of juice! :)

If you meant it keeps tasting burnt, then you can clean it. I just run them under really hot water (my faucet gets almost hot enough to blister skin), let it cool off a few seconds and blow out the water. Dry off the outside and you can use it right away or dry burn a bit first.

I know attys, and learned over 1.5 years of dripping. I'm talking regular LR attys and dripping, not the heads in Vivi's or the like. Mine all came shipped with primer (who knows what it is, maybe pure VG or PG to protect the coil), I always blew it out. Then (remember I used only LR attys which burn hotter and neeed to be wet), I would add about 4-5 drips, and puff puff puff the first few mouthfuls without inhaling (primer), then I would drip about 4-5 drips and vape for a bit, once it started getting slightly harsher, I'd add another 4-5 drips, and repeat.

Depending on the juice sometimes I could go 2 weeks on a single atty. After they started getting fouled up with juice gunk, and the taste was starting to turn bad, I would toss in a ziplock. After I had a couple, I would boil them on the stove for about 5 minutes, dump all the water, refill the pot, reboil, and repeat until the water looked and smelled clear. Then I would blow out the water, and let dry for about 24 hours, then start back up with the 4-5 drips and vape.

Not all of my attys came back to life, some only tasted burned after cleaning and they were tossed, some came back like new, and others were still OK, but not new new.

My nova came with two other parts, I assume its a higher something. Going to give it a try while I wait for other one to dry. The other one looked perfectly clean. Tiff & V did you dry burn yours first before using it the first time?

I wish I could afford a Phiniac, I look at them and look at them. They had one posted a few days ago with the cutest penguin. I really wanted him, but $40 for a tank just doesn't seem right. I imagine they last forever though, right?

Janie you are right, those are replacement "heads". If you look closely they have the ohm rating stamped on them. I know the Vivi comes with a 2.8 ohm installed (basically 3 ohm). IF you have a VV device and toss the installed 2.8 ohm head for one of the others (I think one might be a 1.7 ohm), MAKE SURE to LOWER the voltage on your device. Then if needed, slowly increase it to where you need to be.

One more thing about "leaking tanks". I don't know if you guys had been referring to Clearomisers as tanks or not, but I've heard some of the Clearo's i.e. Stardust start to leak where the plastic tank mates with the metal battery connection piece.

Another thing I've noticed with actual tanks is o-rings. The J-Tanks had CRAZY tight o-rings and I had to fight to get the caps on/off, AND to get the cartos in/out as well. Jam, jam, jamming things just ends up nicking, tearing, damaging the o-rings and then you get leaks.

I got the Phiniac carto/tank tool with my Phiniac tanks, and I cannot recommend it enough. It really just sliiiiiiiides the cartos in/out and doesn't damage the o-rings, and I have gone through a LOT of cartos.

I have Phiniacs too (almost forgot) no leaks.
So far the tanks that I am happiest with are the Phiniac. I use the standard size with a regular Boge. The past 2 days I've also been putting a vivi nova 2.5 through the paces. It's basically a ce2 with a 2.8ml tank. I still haven't thrown it out, so far so good. It does seem to mute the flavor a bit more than a carto, but being able to wash and reuse it is a plus.

Just for the record, I keep looking at that angel in my yard now. Watching, waiting....

Put some bananananananana in with cake and you will think you were just in Downtown Bakery located in Steubenville Ohio. Birthplace of Dean Martin..and the best bakery ever...
Got me some CC Vapemail! Got twisted and voodoo. Like them both and they are both very different from each other. I'm not sure which I like best yet but leaning toward twisted. I loooove the cake sample I got. Vaping it right now. Thanks FV!!!

They do and they are beautiful as well as functional I've been trying really hard to break mine but so far no go.
