Off today, but Mom was out from Colorado cross country so too busy to post. Happy Friday, Good Morning, and Great end of the week to the posse.

Determined I made a BIG n00b mistake today. Mom enroute, and I'm wanting to fill a fresh tank/carto and can't find my carto tool (I always use it), and searched everywhere, not to be found. Guess I should have ordered MORE than 1, duhhhh. Will have to limp along juicing fresh cartos and pray they don't wreck my Phiniac rings. Wooops. I buy mega bottles of juice from FV, but I buy ONE carto tool, lol. Dunce cap installed.

Question for you DOG lovers, or just PET lovers. I had recently heard (I think it was San Fran but don't quote me) where the city decided to reduce it's unwanted dog population by giving homeless people dogs. I didn't feel it was a good idea as someone who is homeless might not be a good person to take on an abused, unwanted, neglected animal (in my opinion), BUT I guess it's better than euthanizing them (but not so sure).

I'm a HUGE animal person, have 6 rescues, some were strays, on death row, and worse, so believe me when I say I love my pets more than most people.

I saw a very sad, and disturbing video today wherein two NYC police officers had to shoot and kill a Pit that belonged to a homeless man. Apparently the homeless man was having a seizure, and was down on the sidewalk/street, and the dog (as many good dogs do), was trying to protect his person, and the EMS couldn't get to the man to assist him. The dog lunged at a bystander, then police and it was shot and killed.

I'm MORE of a CAT person, than a DOG person, but I love all animals, and the video was VERY hard to watch. BECAUSE I had JUST heard about SanFran dumping shelter dogs onto the homeless, I'm even LESS enthused by this decision. We are all full up at 6 rescues, so we can't save all of the animals but we are doing what we can.

What do you guys think about this. I don't want to link to the video as it's just not necessary, and honestly it's disturbing, especially to those of us who are animal lovers. Sorry for the grim post here, but it's bothering me that a city would do this.

When you puff that PIE for the first time you will be in awe and wonder where it has been all your life...
Dammit, I'm buying some PIE in protest. Ask FV she'll back me up. FIRST PIE I've ever ordered, and it's on the way.

I do like the BLUE though.

I really think it's a stupid idea to give dogs to the homeless. How are they going to take care of them? Vet bills are expensive, food isn't cheap either.

I guess I'm kind of on the fence about this one. If an animal is due to be euthanized, that sucks too. I worked in NYC for many years and passed many homeless people with pets. What struck me every time was the animal never looked skinny, and every one looked incredibly loved. For most of these people, that pet was the only living/breathing daily contact that person had in the world.

Now see, THAT is about the ONLY thing that keeps me from going mental when I heard about the plan. Animals can be VERY good for people, mentally handicapped, terminally ill, and the list goes on and on. I'm torn on this.

I understand, and would rather they not be euthanized either. And I agree that being homeless has nothing to do with being able to love and get attached to a pet. If they are able to get veterinary services, I'd be all for it! I'm just thinking of them not getting rabies shots and other vaccines to keep them healthy.

There are a lot of homeless people in SF and they are trying to move them down or up the coast. At the homeless shelter here in town, many people donate dog and cat food. These people love their animals. When I was down in Santa Cruz, there are many many homeless people on the beach and many have dogs. They all looked healthier than their owners. It is quite sad. I believe that the SPCA does free shots.

Fine, a Rambler in some parts of the US are single story homes -- so I want a one story house. It will be designed by us, all left handed
Soooo.... You want it designed backwards???? ;)

Ive got two left handed kids. I make fun of Kathryn all the time, calling her wrong handed. And to top it off, she's a confused lefty. She throws and pitches righty, but bats lefty. Colors righty, but writes lefty. But she isnt ambidextrous. She cant do any one activity with either hand.

That great pyrenees I groomed a couple of weeks ago was scared of the bare floor. He looked like Scooby Doo running in place with his feet going in 10 directions at once.

Glad you're getting to leave a little early at least. Now go help your wife pack!:D

Great looking kids! Very cool sand sculpture! We want to see you in the car :D

    Well deserved break!

Sent from my HTC EVO on Taptalk.
We need video of the pyrenees pulling the Scooby.

Eh, it ended up being only 30 minutes early, but its still early, so I was happy!

Thank you, and thank you, and no you dont. :D If you really think you do, I'll PM you the link, but you can not hold me responsible for any vomit on the computer, blindness, or coma that may occur.

Stretchy, I LOVE them! The blue is awesome and the holder looks cool. May I have them?

Good to know JD, next time I decide to take up a new instrument I will call you. Right now it's violin. Or screechy as Mr. V calls it.

Time to go home, catch you later!
SCREECHY!!!! BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Right now? Will this go the way of the homemade socks?

See ya later FV. Looks like my half day starts now.
Wow.... That was worse than my half day.

    That's what she said
Dang it.... I had to delete that same quote because I was going to say the same thing...

Cool! Thanks! Do they sell used ones?

Right now we are going to rent a clarinet until we are sure she is going to stick with it. I think they have a 3 month trial rental thingy we're going to do for now. In the mean time we will have time to look for an all wood (which apparently ups the price a bit ) Bb clarinet that we won't have to pawn a limb for. The ones at the rent to own store are around $1000 new  We are hoping to find a used one for muuuuuuccccchhhhh less  . They gave us the brands they prefer: Jupiter, yamaha, selmer, bundy. That's all I know for now.

My parents buy and sell band instruments. Just an fyi if you need something. Step dad is a retired band director.

As far as the rest of the stuff we have to buy, it's really not that bad. There are three mandatory fundraisers we have to do but those will completely pay for everything else she'll need like tshirt, books, etc.

Explain filling from the bottom.... :O

I've been going through about 1 carto for every 2 tank fulls (XL Phiniac) and have it down to a science now. BUT, that included using the plastic filler tip from Phiniac. It allowed me to literally fill it to the top, never a spill, never pressurized the juice INTO the carto, just perfect. NOW (you never miss something until it's gone), I am struggling until I get my replacement.
