Just had a random memory after looking at Session's avatar, he'll apreciate this. I once broke a finger air-drumming to Tom Sawyer. I had really long hair then and whiskey was involved.

I cheated and I'm ashamed. I've been wanting pulled pork for a while now, and I broke down today and bought a pre-made pack with Jack Daniels BBQ sauce in it. OMG it was good!!! I inhaled two 6-inch rolls filled with BBQ, and now I'm fighting a nap attack.

I cheat quite offten.You don't think the ribs I have all the time is homemade did ya?

We now have our money back, and he said he wanted to make it up to us. After the peak season is over, of course, but he said for the same that he was charging for two nights, he would let us have 4 nights, and use of the attached apartment. Im not sure when we could utilize the offer, but it is an option.

Just before I left, I was able to find a beachfront hotel for a not too bad price (but more than what it wouldve been for the cabin) with only one room left big enough for the five of us. Its also pet friendly, no more than two dogs per room, up to 50 pounds. Naturally, Charli is bigger than that, but not to the point where we would get turned away for it. So, the beach trip is still on, but it will be to a different beach, and different type of lodging. But still going, nonetheless.

And the boston butts will be ready to come off the grill in just a little while. Dont worry, I'll share pix. But anyone who wants me to share the food will have to be here in the next three hours if the want some.

sheesh James, you just can't get a break lately. Between you and JD, I am not sure who has worse luck. I hope you find a different cabin so you can all still go.

It seems my concern about the weather may be a non-issue. We just got off the phone with the guy that rented us the cabin. The air conditioner quit earlier this week. He's already refunded the fees of the people that were scheduled to leave today and had to ask them to leave. And Im leaving in an hour to pick up our refund. He said he cant let us stay there due to liability issues, and doesnt want to risk any heat related injuries, even with a waiver. So, now I get to scramble to find out how we are going to get to the beach and IF we can even make it happen. We thought about a hotel, but then we couldnt take the dogs, and we dont have anyone that would be willing to watch them. Mrs E just left for work crying because now she's afraid of breaking the kids' hearts by telling them we arent going on the one thing that theyve been looking forward to doing all summer.


We WERE going to leave in the morning to be at the beach house by noon...

And Im sure there is no reason to be so shy.
