omg....I have just spent the most harrowing 3 days of my life...The Ironman is NOT a spectator sport and ALL mother's should be banned.I watched as my kid try tried kill himself in 10 different places in Louisville.
Going to Iraq with him would have been easier...It's 90 degrees at 6:30 A.M. and it didn't get any cooler.We ran from place to place so that we could catch a glimpse of him swimming in the Ohio for 2 miles bicycling 123 miles and running a whole 26 mile marathon. He looked pretty good going into the run but the biking took it's toll...The last place that I saw him running he looked like he didn't know where he was and he had 10 miles to go.I was sooooo afraid for him....He did all three in 16 hours 23 minutes.He crossed the finish line and he didn't recognize me but I was standing next to my Daughter in Law and he said to the volunteer.:"That's my wife" He had blisters on his feet that ran the ball to the bloody heel.He couldn't put his feet down.He walked on his toes the last 3 miles...This event is not for the faint of heart...People were puking,some were crying hysterically.Some just keeled over at the finish line.He only had 33 minutes to finish as he stepped over the finish line. I'm so proud of him but that's it for me. I'll never watch that again....I hope he hangs his running shoes up....Mr.Crabbypants can do it..Never Again..

Well the kids seem to feel a lot better. Of course they were feeling better by lunch time and back to themselves. I still feel icky, but feel better than I did. My nose keeps bleeding. I should probably go to the doctor but I don't want to waste the money to have them tell me I have a sinus infection, which I already know. It will eventually go away on its own. Now if it were the kids, I'd have no problem taking them to the doctor. But with me, it's a waste of time and money.
Hubby comes home tomorrow!
And I don't have to work tomorrow!
Which means I probably get to take a nap tomorrow! Yay! Isn't that sad....I haven't even gone to bed tonight and I'm already looking forward to a nap tomorrow.

Holy smokes! That is just incredible! Good for him for finishing. So sorry you had to watch all that. I wouldn't want to watch my kid go through that but I sure would be proud.

Aw geez Stretchy, that's why they call it the Ironman, it's not for normal humans! I know you had to be proud of him for finishing, and I'm proud of you for hanging in there for him!

Darn if he isn't super human Stretchy. Hooray for Jimmy!!!! And for you for living through it. Were you the one puking, or the one sobbing uncontrollably? I'd probably be doing both if it were Sonny. I think the last time I saw him run was away from me..... Running skeered.
I remember those days...I was sick and pregnant. Jimmy was a toddler.I had him in the bath tub for his bath.I didn't have the strength to get him out and dry him off.It was the most awful feeling.
