Yes, the dogs do react. Jake is scared. Victor watches whatever move around the house. My dog Elwood used to get upset and growl at it/them. I can tell when things are brewing by watching the dogs.

My house is not old. It was quiet for a few years, until we added on. It's not always the house, sometimes it's the people in it.

I believe in ghosts, I don't dislike ghosts, I'm glad I live in a "new" house. :)

My house papers say built in 1943. Its a completely different house now. Nothing is the same about it at all except for the load bearing walls. Underneath it still has those big boulders they used to build on and wood planks like cross ties.

LOL at Simon! Victor is not afraid of much. He has an attitude.
Now that's a surprise. I would have thought that Victor would have been the scaredy dog. Although, come to think of it Simon is only afraid of inanimate objects. Like ladders and tractors and boats and yard tools...

Hmmm, I was thinking since we were the first owners we would be ghost free. Far as I know nobody died in the building of my home. We're pinned to ledge, so no way was this land ever burial grounds. If any ghosts waft in here, I'll have to figure out a way to tell them they're in the wrong place and to just move along. All of your stories are fascinating, but I'm a big chicken.

Oh Simon's attitude is as big as Texas... until he goes outside and see the tractor pulled out of the shed. Like it moved itself or something! We took the dogs for a ride with us the other day towing the boat to the gas station to fill up the tanks. He was plastered against the front seats for the whole ride like the boat was "following us" and was somehow going to hurt him! We're still trying to figure out how we're going to get him ON the boat next week on vacation. Needless to say we bought him a life vest for the inevitable dive into the water when my husband starts the motor.
