Any Port in a storm Means you must accept any help you are offered when you are in a difficult situation
Like a boat would in a storm will pull into any port.
I will try to refrain using idioms from the early 1900's.

Not if you're not a crabbypants...My Grandmother told me days before our wedding that a grouchy young man is a grouchy old man. I didn't know what she meant at the time.

I suspect that my wife is more likely to call me Mr. Cheapskate! ;)

Darn they always show up when you don't want then to.

Then again... If she left the computer that fast then maybe she did! ;)

Oh now you know she has some sort of name for you! If you're lucky, it's a cute one! :)

The only one I hear her use in my presence is "the redhead"... which is both true (at least for my remaining hair) and funny considering that I am seriously beginning to go bald now.

Nope. I just got a call. Kathryn was spending the night at a friend's house tonight. The call was from her friend's grandmother. I was just informed that Kat and friend were throwing rocks at passing cars while standing in the road. A driver that got his BMW's paint nicked, stopped and told grandmother. She said he was really nice about it, not worried about the damage, but felt it would be a good thing to make sure she knew what the girls were up to. Now I get to come up with a punishment evil enough to match the crime.... I hate this part.

I would make her do free car washes for everyone in the neighborhood for a full day! Depending on the child that could be FAR more effective than a spanking etc.!

Pull the purse is hysterical. Sorry Stretchy but it is funny.

Mr. V is telling me how they stuffed jeans and a sweatshirt and put that out in the road to watch the people freak and slam on their brakes. He said it was really funny until the cops arrived.

*looks around to see who is listening...*
We did something similar, but we took a broken skateboard and a can of red paint to add to the deception... it was hilarious... but we were also out there scrubbing paint off of the road before it was all over! *sighs*

She is definitley grounded. Im not happy about her timing though. We have our last practice tomorrow. I cant let her stupidity hurt the team. However.... The trip to Chuck E Cheese that she was going to on Saturday is gone. Unless of course the wife makes me take her. Which will more than likely happen. There are reasons behind it, not just because shes the lenient parent. She will also be cleaning her room to spotless. Scrubbing the toilets. and possibly the kitchen floor. I suggested that she use nothing but a tooth brush. That idea got shot down though.
James,

You might want to revisit the toothbrush part with your wife... at least with the floors. If you have tile, then the best way to clean the grout is with an old tooth brush. Any time that my step children are in trouble there is always going to be cleaning involved in the punishment (they hate that) and cleaning the grout is a nice additional chore for punishment and a toothbrush is perfect for that... another great punishment is weeding the yard! :)
