So, Speaking of batteries...just spent over an hour in the newbies bat section. Left me with a lot of confusion and new found concerns.

Sounds like you read the right stuff! IMO, having a reasonable fear of batteries is similar to the fear of riding a bike in traffic - both will keep you healthy! :)

And if you have questions, please ask! Most of us can help find answers!

My new mod is coming with ICR18500 1600mah batteries. Don't even know if they are protected. I guess those forums just see who can scare people the most. Would hate to endanger myself or family. Meters and voltages. Storage. I just have alot to learn about them, I suppose.
You should pick up an inexpensive voltmeter to check readings after charging. Basically, you don't want to run them too far below 3.5v, and they should read about 4.2v coming off the charger. Major safety point: don't leave batts on charger overnight or when you're not home! They can overcharge, it's not pretty.

Thanks Bamerz. I hate feeling like a newbie and going over stuff everyone here already knows, but I want a safe hobby...and just starting up on this side of mods offers a lot of products, accessories, and brands. Then when you throw in the fraud side of things...geesh

We were all newbies at one time and were all grateful for the help. I am sure I speak for everyone here when I say we are more than happy to help you out and keep you and your family safe.

What she said. If you are talking about the Bolt batteries, they are protected. And there are no stupid battery questions. I send battery info with the Bolt, so make sure you read it. Please.

Sorry, Mr. V and I have been sitting in the closet. The organizer thingy is taking shape. Hamper and all. Woo Hoo! And shoe shelves.

Oh, I plan to. And, I have faith in everything I am getting from you. That is why I ordered it from you, because being new to the world, I felt I could trust what you put on your site. I believe in your passion for quality, and if you have it listed, I can trust it. I just jumped into the threads to start learning on proper care for batteries, and started reading terms and situations that seemed so overwhelmingly dangerous.

Well, I do use the term New England loosely :). I am a southern man, anyway, (originally from Florida, and spent the last 4 years in Arkansas), so everything up here is New England to me. Technically, PA is not New England, and Jersey is debatable. But in terms of relativity, I am equally distant from PA, NY, CT, VT, Mass, etc. It's all up here bundled together.

Woohoo for closet organizers taking shape!

I've been sitting on the couch agonizing over vacuums. I know, I know... I really know how to live. I pulled the trigger on a Dyson animal, they are 20% off between now and Mother's Day. *like any woman really wants a vacuum for Mother's Day* :glare: I bought a canister though, since our upright is still alive and our canister recently died. I hope I made the right decision. :(

You missed all the stuff that I posted last night, and you didnt bother to catch up on the thread... You cut me deep Bliss. You cut me real deep just now. ;)

yeah, surprisingly. But it looks like you took 4 dogs off when you're done. They make them for short and long haired dogs/cats. Look....

We have the same problem. Even Cocoa being a 40lb dog, I can easily fill up a grocery bag daily with fur.
