Well, there is one thing I will say for the dehydrated...

I think ours were doing just fine on the dry, I was THRILLED with the time and money we were saving. As soon as I switched them to the dehydrated though, I realized there was one thing missing with the dry. When we started feeding home cooking, Zach's coat got shiny and soft. When we switched to dry, I didn't notice it because it didn't happen all at once, but his coat got dull and rough. Now that he's getting the dehydrated, it's shiny and soft again. I'm sure there is a supplement we could have given him that would have achieved the same thing though.

I was just wondering. Thomas was in a convo with this guy who makes his own stuff. Raw meat and veg. Even like livers and necks etc. I haven't researched it because what he called it, made me want to do it...BARF diet lol.

Yeah, gotta say... the acronym is a bit of a turn off.

I've been reading about it Drott. It's complete. You just add water. According to the site, a 10# box makes 40# of food. I like the idea of human grade food, and that it would be a lot easier to store than 40# bags. I am assuming you are like me and buy more than one at a time.
Just came back from their web site very interesting.
2 30lb every 2 weeks.

Thinking the price wont be too bad.I would imagen you would go by the expanded amount.I feed 4 cups dry to Lexie a day.but 4 cups of this would = 8 cups. She most times dosen't finish the 4 cups. So I would need 3 a month insted of 4bags of dry.Free shipping and no taxes. It comes out to around the same.In my case.

Best thing to do is go by calorie count. Most dry foods have about 400 calories per cup. This has about 450 - 550 calories per dry cup. Add water, and now you're still talking only 450 - 550 calories for two cups of wet. I think you will find it more expensive. I don't want to talk anyone out of it, I love everything about this food except the cost. I just don't want anyone to be shocked after they've spent the money. Maybe get a sample from their site and see how far it goes. :)

Thank you for clearing that up Sallie. I'm going to buy a small box next time I go to the closest city. And for Stretchy, yes, that would be 25 miles away. Then I can see if the boys like it. I've donated so many kinds of dog food because they just don't like it. The humane society appreciates it, but my check book does not.

My hummingbirds are back!!! They are early. Usually they show up on Mother's Day. (my gift) Mr. V just went out and they were all diving around him. Had to quick mix up their food and get it out there. Little things must be starving. I still find it amazing that they make that long trip every year, and find their way home. :)

P.S.
I would normally jump to page 1 and start reading thru.. but i think 5260+ pages might require a little bit of time.
so i'll just trust my instincts that the posse is a great group!

Violet eats Sojos Complete Mix....beef or turkey...8lb bag equals 55 lbs dry...
she won't eat Honest Kitchens at all...
or I feed her a raw diet....she gets a lb of chicken or beef or turkey a day plus
either raw veggies or baby food veggies....

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am going to try it! Thank you!!!
