Hahaha. I used to love lard. I haven't had anything fried with it since I was a kid.QUOTE=efirdj;6433473]Too late. Even if you had left NeverNear when I posted it, you wouldnt have made it in time. There was barely enough for a plate left when I got home.

Pascal: BUCKMAN! what the heck are you doing?

Buckman: restocking the pantry, sir

Pascal: what are in these 2 cans?

Buckman: that one's coffee....and that one looks like cooking lard.

Pascal: and which one do you think we'll be using more often? The coffee....or the lard? you think we're all going to jump out of bed in the morning and have a big, tall, steaming cup of PIGFAT?

Buckman: Depends on how cold the morning is, sir.

Hahahahaha!! I made some bread with lard, and everyone loved it! I didn't tell anyone what they just ate. :)

Mornin' folks. Anyone ever have one of those nights where you're pretty sure you slept well enough, but still feel like youve been up for two or three days straight? Yep. Thats where Im at right now. I know I slept. Im pretty sure I slept soundly. But I dont feel like I ever got any sleep. Not fun.

I killed it?
Its about time someone else other than me killed it. Last time, my Passion Flower turned into the Flower of Thread Death. :glare:

Morning posse.

It's gonna be a hot one here today! I think summer has finally arrived, and not a day too soon! Literally, not a day too soon. Happy start of summer everyone!

Morning Sallie! Morning everyone!

It's going to be a hot one here too. We are looking at 96 with a 103 heat index.

Yep, up at 1:30 and again at 4:45 & finally got out of bed. Getting up so early has its perks! I finally caught the dog on my couch (which I forgot to cover last night), she came slinking out of the room like she "knew" she was in trouble!

Its going to be hot here today too, just no humidity. 103* The only thing I like about CA summers is that it cools down at night, currently 58*, until the temps start staying in the high 90's or 100's then it doesn't cool down so much at night, unless we get the breeze off the Delta's. I don't miss the humidity, but I'd move back in a second.

Its too hot for me to like that.

Oh they know. They always know. But sometimes the risk is worth the soft cushy comfort of the couch.

Good Morning Posse!

Thank you James, I love them too.

Spicy, looking good!

Sounds like a nice summer day all over.

NO shipping notice for my peeps. I give up.

*coffee*
Not liking that because of the peeps.

Morning James! Mr. V said maybe Stretchy peep is just a late hatcher and will ship tomorrow. We'll see. I am sure she wants to make a grand entrance.
Just like her namesake. You cant just show up.

Well, I thought my day was about to be exciting. Out of no where, we start hearing sirens. A bunch of them. Then they get close enough to hear their engines. FOUR firetrucks, one Hazmat truck, three police cars and two ambulances, plus the fire marshal and fire chief. ALL in front of my building across the street. I talked really quickly to the guy driving one of the engines that pulled into my parking lot, and he said it was just "an odor of natural gas." So much for my exciting day.

Yesterday there was a bit of excitement on my way to my appointment. The interstate buckled from the heat, all the way across both lanes. There were 7 vehicles with messed up tires/rims on the other side. And really cranky people on their phones calling tow trucks. Luckily the police were already there with lights on to slow traffic down or I would have been #8. The pavement had heaved up about a foot! By the time I was on my way back home they had already repaired it. Now I will remember to watch for it when it gets this hot.
