It plays the imperial march? Clearly it is trying to turn you to the dark side.

Yes, Imperial March. Couldn't remember that.
I NEED to make this work in the ShockWave!

Couple more thoughts.
The Crown seems to be very robust. Some of the things I've done to it would surely have killed a Kick deader than a doornail. I'm pretty sure I've shorted it, overheated it, and put it in wrong. The little magnet breaking off the fuse has been the only casualty.

When it plays the Imperial March that means it sees a low battery condition. When the battery voltage goes below a certain value (not exactly sure what it is) it will play the IM and shut down. It then waits for 8 seconds and samples the battery again, and if it is okay, it plays the Ode to Joy and starts up again. If it is doing this over and over and you have a known good battery in there, then there is probably a voltage drop somewhere, meaning it is not making proper contact. It could be the ground pin not contacting the side of the mod properly, or that is it loosly connected to the battery.

For the magnet thing, just put some Crazy glue on it to stick it back down. The magnet will stick on there anyway, but the Crazy Glue just keeps it from sliding off so easily.

It even has low battery indicator? The news keeps getting better and better. Memory saved between modes and battery changes. This is well designed. I don't know what else I could want. I even like the tap feedback tone. Some may have issue with the Crown remembering taps, but you should lock it after it is set any way. Gold is my choice for contacts as well. I've had to deal with enough contact cleaning in my life already.

I just got mine today, and I have been playing with it all morning. I really love being able to fine tune the vapor on my mech for just the right throat hit and still be able to use my mech for SLR vaping by removing the Crown. Adjusting on the fly without removing it, and getting resistance feedback makes it superior to the kick IMHO. I am very happy with it. I don't really trust the Chinese electronics to last very long in their VV/VW mods. Even if the Crown fails, I still have a useable device. Definitely one of the best e-cig investments I have made.

Yes, I agree. It's a great little device! My problems with it are specific and probably wouldn't affect very many. I think I'll ditch the ShockWave for awhile and just enjoy the Crown without spazzing and see if any issues crop up.

It needs a bit more documentation, for sure.

Keep us updated.....might be good for an ELA? I want to know how consistand it fires vs a Kick?

snork, one thing I would mention is I had a problem with connectivity at first. Turns out that the Crown's pin was catching on the inner threads of where the tube meets the head assembly so it wouldn't seat down all the way. There wasn't enough play to get it past that last thread. I got it to seat after fiddling with it a bit (I spun the Crown so it screwed down into the threads.) The one change that I might make is putting a rounded button head on the pin so it doesn't catch in the threads.

I started vaping with the Crown in my old P+ 18650 about 1:45, it's now 7. Still going with the 18490 battery. I've been vaping normal, which is like sit and vape pretty hard for 20 minutes, get up and do stuff for an hour, repeat.
I picked this P+ because it's the most problematic for the Kick. Its button has some issues, dirty, a little worn, just not the perfect ideal situation the Kick apparently demands. I set it up with two thick o-rings and four washers, would have used five if it had let me - the crown & fuse are short, more about that later.
The Crown has handled it quite a bit better. I have had a ton of misfires toward the end here but never to the point where I've wanted to throw it through the wall and I've always been able to make it fire with a firmer press or a sideways press. It worked very well with a fresh battery though.
This has a 1.5 ohm atomizer set at 8 watts.
I think the issues are a cooperative effort between the sensitivity of the crown and the wonkiness of the button. In my perfect world little devices like the Crown would be totally insensitive to my walking stress test life. That's one of the reasons I love my P+s so much, they're no-brainer reliable no matter if a hydrogen bomb is exploding in the vicinity and I have a difficult time accepting less.
More about the setup. In this case I found it weird to put the fuse on the bottom of the battery and rest it on the o-rings. Didn't feel too good, so I put the fuse on the Crown and put the works on top of the battery. The two thick o-rings make for a really long button throw. I think the Crown and fuse could be one, even two mm longer for my needs.

Just changed the battery, should have done that an hour ago.

A little more length would undoubtedly help the ShockWave situation.

All in all the Crown gets a thumb and three quarters up. Its robustness, menu, and provisional reliability give it superior marks over the Kick. Though to me, nothing beats the peace a plain old battery in a P+ brings.

So do I order one and wait for my ELA to arrive?

I think the Crown (at least as far as Super T devices go) is better suited for the Precise ELA then the Shockwave or P+. Both the Precise and Shockwave were conceived before the Kick or Crown existed. With the Precise ELA though, the tube is infinitely variable and can be properly and accurately compressed down on the Crown. Plus, you can leave the Crown in when changing batteries, no need to remove it!

Note:

You can run the Crown with an 18350 or 18500 battery in the ELA, but if running the crown with an 18650 battery, you will need the optional longer 18650 kick/crown extension tube.

Thanks David, Im going to order one along with some of the SuperT felt bags.....now how about a Contoured Wide Mouth Stainless Steel T-Tip---Blued?

The Crown works nearly flawlessly in the ShockWave in this configuration:

The VapeSafe2 fuse is stuck on the top of the Crown and inserted into the SW sleeve. The bottom of the Crown contacts the positive on the battery, and the bottom of the fuse contacts the plunger. In the three hours I've had it this way I've had no misfires, though Vader did approach once but quickly took a hike.

Before I put it in the ShockWave I also tried it this way in the P+18650 with excellent results.
