Are you kidding? Our juices are humectants. That means they suck the moisture out of everything. And dehydration is no myth. As a medical researcher I can tell you that proper hydration is important to virtually every biological function in the body. Far more likely that people are dehydrated chronically, than over hydrated. Do some actual research, dehydration is no myth certainly.

I always heard drink more to replace the fluids you're losing, the problem is drinking more caused more to be "lost". Add all the water you want but if the system to extract it isn't functioning properly it's going to make the symptom worse.
Everyone's medical situation is dependent on that person's situation, which is something medical science is forgetting in their quest to give us assembly line health care to maximize profits.
Curious thing about the Lo-So prep. It has the water drinking before the prep. After that first glass of water all the other glasses just made me pee. My body had all the hydration it could use for anything but a system flush. After taking the prep and following the instructions the other flush wasn't effective because all the water it had me drink before was gone. It didn't hydrate me to protect me from dehydration, although it did flush my kidneys and make them work harder than they need to.
The PEG prep had me pushing overhydration, I felt like I was dying and it wasn't because of the effects of the prep.
I'm sure these both worked great in clinical studies but my house isn't a clinic and I'm not a group of people.
Pat answers don't work as often as modern medicine wants to claim (not that they don't work "often" but they're not 100%).
There are some signals to look for. In normal situations (unlike my massive B2 dose) light colored urine means you're getting enough hydration. Skin that bounces back when pinched means you're getting enough hydration. And generally if you need hydration you are thirsty.
If anything I would say coating your mouth and
throat with PG/VG would make one tend to be thirsty even if they were hydrated and cause them to drink more than their body desires.
We're animals. When will there be an ad campaign re-teaching people this simple fact?

We need water. Its the universal SOLVENT. Like how we extract alkaloids from plants with the solvent alcohol, or naphtha, our BODIES need WATER to extract the nutrients from the garbage we slide down our throats for our organs function.

Do you think our bodies are designed to eat meat every single day? As if we could catch an animal every day in the wild? Think our bodies are designed to gorge on "bread" the way we do? It's unnatural for what our bodies were designed for.
E-cigs definitely do make me feel dehydrated. Sugar doesn't take the feeling away though, it makes me feel worse! Water almost instantaneously makes me feel so much better if I know I'm dehydrated. Vaping increasingly feels worse. It makes you slow down mentally, and it slows your body down physically. As vapers, we should definitely be drinking our 2 liters a day imo.
My body works like it's supposed to and can extract water out of other liquids and even solid foods. I can even separate the water from the 4% alcohol that's in beer, use some of that water to flush my body of the alcohol and use the rest for hydration.
I can catch an animal every day. I think you are proving the old Indian word for bad hunter is vegetarian.
I hate to break it to your paleo diet fad but grains have always been part of our diet unless you think grass seeds were too fast for early man to catch too. Almost every dig where man has lived for any amount of time has grain grinding stones.
My brother lived with kidney problems his whole life, he equated passing a kidney stone was like passing a frieght train wrapped in barbed wire. ouch
My brother-in-law had a 5mm stone. That was after breaking them up. It looked like a freight train.
More water = more pee = more flushing the PG and VG out of your system. (It's gotta go somewhere to exit. Helps liver/kidneys flush it out.)
Plus it's good to drink enough water everyday.
Plus it helps with dry throat.
So drink some water.
Drink a glass of PEG and it's not going to be flushing out in urine
You could eat enough fruit in a day. You could drink enough juice in a day. You could even drink enough soda in a day. Our bodies can separate the water unless there is some kind of dysfunction.
