As many of you know or may not a deveestating band of tornadoes ripped through the south and southeast yesterday and last night leaving a wake of death injuries and total loss of homes In some towns the whole towns were taken apart In Northern Alabama this whole section is about gone. In Georgia the same destruction took place. I watched the news this evening and famailies are still looking for thier loved ones and hospitals are so full that they are turning away patients. The news said thier hasn't been this many tornadoes in over fourty years. I am not sure of the number so don't quote me but the number of tornadoes that tore through the south and southeast was close to two hundred. My stae as well got tornadoes but nothing like what Alabama and Georgia Let's all say a prayer for these people and hope that they get through this and stay strong. I donated to the effort today and sent supplies to the stricken area. I think it would be nice if everyone here if able could pitch in and send supplies or a little something to the ravaged areas of Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina

I live right outside of Chattanooga. We dont have any damage at our home other than some small branches, but you drive down the road and it become heart wrenching. Trees and power lines down, homes damaged, ect....

Anyone even close to these areas could help by donating blood. They need so much with all the injuries. Keep the thoughts of those in need... it will be a while before the cleanup is done. Some area's like Ringold GA are still finding fatalities, and they have closed the town down. Most schools in my county are closed due to so many families being affected, and the mass power outages...

I still cant believe how the storms came in wave upon wave........

My brother lives in Montevallo, just south of Birmingham. A tornado touched down at the airport just three miles from their home, but thank God left them untouched. My sister-in-law said that thousands of homes are without power, and she was concerned because my brother is on oxygen. But their power was still on when I spoke with her yestarday.

The saddest story I've heard yet was about an 8 year old Barnesville, GA girl who was adopted. She was found wandering around in her backyard shortly after midnight. The house was demolished. When asked where her parents were, she replied, "Mama blew away".

We had an F1 tornado tear a path 2.3 miles long about 5 miles away from us two weeks ago. Looking at the NWS radar images, our house was on the edge of the storm in the red area. My wife and I drove up to the shopping mall that it traveled through and all the decorative trees in the parking lot were twisted off and the tops were laying in the parking spaces. Traffic lights and power lines were down all over the area and all the businesses were closed due to power outages. My Nephew called me at 6:00am that morning to tell me to turn on the TV. The radar, he said, is showing it right over your subdivision. Luckily, were on the edge and not in the middle. About 5 houses on one street in the storm track were destroyed, but no deaths.
