Brushing cured vaper's tongue for about 5 minutes but weird tongue feeling coming back. As soon as tooth paste flavor touched tongue my buds awoke and felt cured. When tooth paste taste wained the vapers tongue returned.

Hmmm 2 suggestions

1 try mouthwash garggle
2 clean your drip tip may be getting residue buildup that's coming out with your vapor

I do not think it would be possible to get vapors tongue with Pluid:p That said, I change up a half dozen flavors a day. But I have to remember to drink, because not only do I get thirsty but everything starts to taste sour - which reminds me I need more water!

Lol Amanda if it happens just switch to bryces custard :p

Brushing your tongue should be part of every tooth brushing. I'm suprised more dentists dont teach this like mine did a few decades ago. I guess they get more return customers heh heh.

Actually alot of the bacteria that forms between teeth can be harbored on the textured surface of your tongue.
It's not hard to do, but some folks may gag at first when they learn to brush it, as you need to brush as much of the top of your tongue as possible. If you tend to gag just stick out your tongue and hang on to the tip as you brush the back section. Seriously folks, your mouth and taste buds will thank you, although others in the house may worry about that sound your making booohawhawwww

On another note... I've personally found it very helpful to vape a plain e juice with a very high percentage of em...seems to remedy the vape tongue and ready it for flavors again after a short half hour or so vape session.

such as this recipe for that particular vape tongue remedy...

I got dud buds about 2 weeks into vaping. It sucked. I didn't realize what was going on and motored through it. Went away after a few days. I thought it was my hardware.

Second time I had it, I knew what It was. This was a few months into vaping.
I had it bad. Really bad. Really really bad.

I drank lots of water.
I mixed up some unflavored juice. Vaped that for a couple days.
Didn't help.
I could taste my first few vapes of the day, then went completely tasteless.

Read a post about menthol and anise vapes helping.
Mixed up some strong anise juice and loaded it up with menthol.
Seemed to help. At least I could taste it a little.

Going on about 5 days I resorted to slicing lemons and rubbing them on my tongue. Lol.
Crazy thing was I couldn't even taste it. I got sour sensation but no taste.

I was brushing 3 or 4 times a day and drinking liters of water every day.

After about 7 days it went away and I could taste my vape like never before!

Now, if a juice starts tasting the least bit weak, I change up to a completely different flavor.

I think I may be going through this now as well. Im about 3 weeks into vaping. The past week and a half or so I've been vaping nothing but sweet tart but after a couple days it started taking burnt. Other people tried my set up and juice and said it tasted like a good sweet tart. I sampled some new flavors and could barely taste anything fruity. Tried some atomic fireball and it tastes great. Could this be my problem?

Wish I wrote it but I give credit where credit is due :).

Thanks so much for linking to my article!

I'm taking a look at all of your other suggestions in the thread and they're great :) Feel free to add comments to the article itself if you feel like I missed anything or have any tips i didn't mention that work well for you.

for those that are feeling a film on the tongue try higher PG e-juice. I personally have found anything higher than 30% VG leaves a film that mutes all flavor and gives me vapors tongue

24 hours with the film tongue. Tongue brush no go. Hot peppers no go. Salt no go. Onion no go. Mouth wash no go.
I am starting a vape diet of 100% PG. I've been wanting to test 100% PG in my cloud machines anyway.

I haven't been using much nic until recently when I tested several coils w/ 8mg looking for 2014 gold standard coil. Feels like nic burned my tongue. Like a sun burn (except no pain, just film feeling). Just a wild guess.

Sometimes the only thing that'll help is time - it varies from person to person. I too have had that weird feeling/taste of the film on my tongue...it's just the feeling of the vaper as it passes over your tongue and since you can't taste/smell it...you just feel it. Have you tried lemon juice? I've heard that sipping on lemonade while vaping helps...but gum, coffee, and time are the only things that have worked for me in the past.

Concur. I suspect like sun burn. Some things may relieve symptoms but time is real cure.

Coffee no go. Tooth paste cured it for about 5 minutes but how to vape w/ a mouth full of tooth paste. I will look in ref to see if any lemons.

Great article, makes perfect sense :)

I don't have any help for getting past it quicker but just a little more info to add that might be interesting - it takes your body about 21 days to make all new tastebuds. So the 3-week thing really is a scientific thing. Not that you wake up on day 21 and everything is new. And tastebuds aren't all that's going on with this. But as the article says, after assaulting your olfactory senses with cigarettes all the time, it makes sense these new cells would be more sensitive and get overworked easily.

I used to have a lot of craves for salt and sugar but I found that a "fast" of two weeks from those, completely re-set my tastes.

I'm guessing that likewise if your favorite flavor is going flat, if you don't use it for a couple of weeks, you will be ready for it again. Also if you buy some flavor that you don't like, maybe hang on to it for a couple of weeks and try it again.

Also since it's flu season and I was looking at information about Zicam, thought I would mention I saw a warning about the zicam that goes in your nose (spray?)... that stuff supposedly can permanently damage your sense of smell. So be careful about that too!
