I'm surprised in there that you didn't mention a passthrough as one of the accessories you invested in. I know a lot of people spend a huge chunk of their day in front of a computer. I know I do. Thus the passthrough saves me big time on battery usage.

I do spend all of my day in front of a computer but unfortunately it's in a low walled cubicle at work and the passthrough would more than likely (ie size and shape) draw unwanted attention. As it is now, I actually have been very discreetly stealth using my 510 at my desk and not one person has noticed.

 Ha ha ha!

My co-worker and I have been doing the EXACT same thing even though all we have right now is this piece of crap eHealth garbage! We're both IT managers, so we have to "discreetly" sneak around the cube, or go some place else so as to not draw attention. But no one's noticed!

Honestly, I can't wait to try this on a plane. I don't think I have balls enough to just "smoke up" next to someone. But the bathroom stall would be a good bet i'm sure. Only question I have is, has anyone attempted to use these as a carry-on? Or walk-through a metal detector? Being that O'Hare Airport sucks in terms of their TSA hospitality... my thought is that if it's in your pocket, it's going to go off on the metal detector. If it's in my laptop bag, their going to think it's suspcious when it goes through the metal detector. Just curious on that one.

Man you guys have been REALLY helpful though, I think I've made up my mind to go with one of the 510s, and possibly get a passthru cable. It deffinately sounds like that's the "real deal" i'm looking for.

and then some little mods like cart stuffing PCC modding and made my own juice and finnally got a recipy down that I love. Now there's no way I'de go back, this thing puts out a cloud of vapour I love and tastes just perfect!

hey, i was just wondering what recipe you are talking about here woooozzaa? and could you tell me how you're making your own juice?

as for the review.
you are going to find so many knockoffs as well as crappy models which never live up to what they promise. luckily, you are getting some information here before making a mistake like ordering the blu ;) like most of the guys here, i bought a 510, i love it! pros: vapor is awesome, hit is awesome. cons: batt life sucks, and its a juice hog- but all things considered...its the best i have tried, and i enjoy it SO much more than an analog.

Just hold it like an ink pin; If you hold the vapor in for 20secs or so nothing will come out at all.:p

Looks like I'm surrounded by fellow IT nerds :p The only issue is that I have people coming up to my desk a lot but so far so good. Funny thing is my one co-worker popped his head over my cube wall unexpectedly and I was just at the end of exhaling very faint vapor and he had a really funny look on his face, like a dog that was just shown a card trick. I didn't say anything and he didn't mention anything. hehehe.

Justaguy, definitely give the 510 manual a try. I have been very pleased with it so far.

Oh I think you've definately peaked my interest enough to try out the 510. I think the passthru is ingenious as well. Is it just me, or does it seem like this is a product that pretty much all "IT" smokers would most likely be the first to be on-board with? It just seems like a "techy" sort of thing to me

But back to the plane question, what has been the general consensus when trying to go through the security gates at an airport with either 1) this thing in your pocket or 2) this thing in your carry-on luggage (i.e. Laptop bag). I travel a lot, that's why I'm more curious about this than most others I'm sure ;)

It's definitely a "techie" kind of device. Lots of cool gadgetry involved in the whole process. I was telling my gf last night about the fact I had gone 24 hours without a cigarette and she asks me, did you buy that thing to quit smoking or because you thought it was cool? Little from column A and a little from column B.

I know how you feel on this, I felt the same way about my first e-cig 2 weeks ago. It was exactly as you stated, same experiencing, sucking like crazy and no smoke, battery was ****e and atty sucked too.

I went to innovapor.com and bought the Joye510 with the manual battery, the starter kit was only $30 and it's awesome! The vapor is amazing, with the manual battery you don't have to suck hard at all to get a good hit and the throat hit is quite harsh. The battery last me a good 3-4 hours before I have to charge it again, and charging takes maybe 30 mins at most. Good idea to have a backup battery so you never have to wait around while the charging is happening, you can just keep on vaping.

I'm 6 days today with no real cigs, the cravings are there and intense at times, but that's because my body is used to all the crap cigs were putting in my body, not just the nicotine.

Good luck to you. :)

Interesting...

I'd be curious to here some other people's thoughts / opinions. Really I want something that meets all of the following, the other stuff I mentioned above is just a nice to have but below are the musts:

1) I don't want have to suck on the thing like I'm trying to get a lemon seed jammed in a straw out. It should be as close to natural as possible

2) I want a good throat hit with plenty of smoke... none of this wimpy 1/2 a second smoke you can barely see... literally, I feel like the one I tried was comparable to one of those old school candy cigarettes you can puff on with the powdered sugar.

3) I want something that satisfies the nicotine crave sufficiently, can produce the "buzz" effect so to speak, etc.

Thanks guys!

510 For the win!!!

I don't know about O'Hare, but i just traveled through SMF and LAX with my e-cig in my backpack... TSA didn't even flinch at it.

BTW, I started vaping with an RN4081 (Yes, i got conned by SmokingEverywhere) which is actually a pretty decent device. The parts for it are extremely cheap at ruyandirect.com. I just got my Joye510 from ruyandirect.com and I have to agree with every other poster here: Manual is the ONLY way to go. The thing hits like a freakin' hooka. I think the greatest advantage of the 510 over the RN4081 is that the vapor-to-air ratio is much greater on the 510 which not only gives you more "smoke" but it increases the actual flavor by at least double.

Do yourself a favor and buy a Joye510 or a 901 with a manual battery, you will not be disappointed and you will be able to get off analogs.

I've only read the first couple posts of this thread, but I'm sure it has been mentioned that the e-cig you purchased is complete trash. Well, maybe not complete trash, but the battery and carts are worthless. The battery has a horrible automatic switch that is very inconsistent, and the design of the internal "juice cup" of the cart makes for an extremely hard draw.

If anyone wants to try a dirt cheap e-cig that actually works OK, I suggest the model of "health e-cigarette" that sells in a black box with a pink "e". You can buy these for $12.50 at DealExtreme (SKU 18431) or FocalPrice (SKU HH126W). The battery activates very easily and consistently and the "juice cup" design in the cart is much better and provides an easy draw.

The official model number of the e-cig recommended above is EC502C.

New poster to this forum, though I have been reading it for a few days now. Based on everything I have read here I also decided on the 510 as my first e-cig.

Justaguy0, you might want to try the folks at cignot.com as they are located in the Chicago area. I found them quite by chance yesterday when looking for a relatively close distributor here in the Midwest. Selection is limited but seems reasonable and you can get a starter kit for a decent price. I got the USB passthrough with a single 510 e-cig kit. Should be here tomorrow (Friday).

hey, i was just wondering what recipe you are talking about here woooozzaa? and could you tell me how you're making your own juice?

Nothing special it just took me a while to try all combos of PG/VG% untill I found something perfect. Turns out I just don't like PG at all so I use 48mg cut to 16 + 10% Absolute Vodka + the rest VG. I don't add flavouring to the math at all, make my base mix in 30ml bottle and add the flavours as I fill up my 3ml dropper bottle to carry with me. Each day a new flavour lol. Here's a quick online calc. eJuice Recipe Calculator I use the exel sheet sorry can't find a bookmark real quick.

justaguy0 I think you've got alot of info in one shot. About 901 vs 510 I think the 901 produces a little less vapour but makes up in taste in case that wasn't answered. I haven't tried the manual button ones yet though. If your shooting for the 510 GET THE PCC its a must! DaMulta mentioned the new ultra batteries could last a day but they don't fit in a charging case. I can go 2 days before charging mine up again but that's smoking it like a real ciggy, 15min breaks every 2-3 hours or so.

Hope your experience will be MUCH better this time around!

Quick Question about the JOYE 510.

My co-worker is still adamant about a product he can use pre-filled carts with as opossed to re-fillable e-liquid carts.

Both rockymountainvapor and Totally Wicked sell the 510 kits:

Totally Wicked states that there's comes with 10x Atomized Carts with a variety of nicotine levels. Are these pre-filled, or do they mean they give you blanks with e-juice?

Rockymountain states something similar, although they say un-atomized.

Final question... Can you purchase pre-filled carts for the 510, and where can you get them?

Me personally, I could care less... re-fillable carts is fine by me. He just wants something a bit more plug-and-play.

I might be able to lend some advice since I just went through this myself. I didn't by any e-liquid when I first got my 510 and decided to try the pre-filled carts which were Marlboro 24mg. They tasted good initially but they dry out way too fast. I would get maybe 10 good draws before you can start tasting the fiber material in the cart. Filling the carts yourself is really the only way to go from a flavor\usage perspective as well as a financial one.

You can certainly buy pre-filled carts from most of the suppliers but I would not recommend that option. I just got my PCC the other day and not only can you charge a spare battery but it contains 3 slots for carts. If you're friends is that concerned about the rigamarole of filling the carts, he could get the PCC, prefill 3 carts plus the one on his fully assembled e-cig and that should more than last him for a day.

OMG!

So, after my "crap" experience with the e-Health cigs, and letting my co-worker try, and another guy. We all researched the crap out of finding a vendor in our local area. Luck have it, there was a guy right by my house with the JOYE 510 kits, juice, you name it.

So THIS morning, I bought 3 kits (one for each of us), 2 vanilla juices, some extra atomizers, and a PCC.

All I can say is.... WOW..... what a HUGE difference this thing makes. I've had the same cart all day, and still going! LOTS of vape, GREAT throat hit, decent taste.... I think all 3 of us agreed, we're not going back to the ol' Analogs anytime soon. These things are the bomb.... same puff everytime. Easy to use, Works like a champ!

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THE GREAT REPLIES!

I noticed no one mentioned the Widows bead works as far as supplier.
Sorry can not link urls (need 15 or more post - easily found on the forum).
She carries the Joye510 but what I like about her model is there is no LED.
For those who wish to be "stealth" as I and a coworker do - there is no better manual battery in my opinion. Great service and free shipping.
