Also, what "international laws" are the sellers breaking? This is the USA-- a sovereign nation. We don't honor "international laws" (yet) although we honor treaties that we make. That's why we don't participate in International courts.
Kendra, 'this' is not the usa ... 'this' is an international forum. With an international association. An association which, I should hope, will work for getting e-vaping/-smoking accepted internationaly... just so happens that australia, canada, mexico and some others came before ECA existed (and at least some small but growing parts of this community started to become organized), sadly so - but many countries will have their turn after the USA, and frankly, we-the-others DO expect some backup the other way around then too...

So they have everything to do with international law, even if right now the attention is (rightfully!) focused on the US. :)

Most of these things were manufactured in China, for use in China, and there was no interest in US sales, except by those who saw these as being a profitable source of easy money.

I am curious as to what information you are basing this assumption on ?

The reason I ask is because, according to a Chinese friend of mine (active in the E-cig business), the market for E-cigarettes in China at present is actually very small and that he believes Ruyan always intended to market the e-cig internationally when they first manufactured them.

They did make an attempt initially to market in China itself (perhaps to test as an additional market ?) but apparently weren't very successful due to the high purchase price (cigarettes are still relatively cheap in China compared to most other countries).

Cheers,
Silver

The great thing about e-smoking is that it isn't just a 'good' cause in the name of smokers health.....there is also loads and loads of $$$$$ to be made out of it......and that guarantees that plenty of people with influence will also be joining in the fight. Those $$$ signs will be flashing in front of the eyes of many people's who wouldn't normally have had the slightest interest.

This whole forum is full of people defeating the computer regulation, doubling the vapor byproduct consumption, mixing potentially dangerous home-brews, and leading others into experimentation with more dangerous methods of sales.

Maybe I have the blinders on, but I don't see much of this at all. Been lurking here since Sept of last year, and a member since Nov.

If you think the fda can step in and make your life better, then that is your opinion. People die every year in this country from fda regulated things. People aslo die every year waiting for the fda to approve new proven drugs.Regardless what product we are talking about regulated on non-regulated really doesn't matter. Whether regulated or not people will still abuse. You can pickup a bottle of Tylenol just about anywhere, it is your choice of how many you want to take. My sister in law will pop 4 or 5 at a time in her mouth if she has a bad headache, I usually take 2. What it comes down to is regulated or not people will do as they wish.

Here is a nice website that explains how well the fda does their job.
