oops. I forgot to mention that part. Sorry. Take out the silicone and metal piece. :)

What is the easiest way to do that if I leave the shell on? Sorry I should have listened to all the instructions you have given in the past but this is first one that looks fairly easy without filler to mess with.

Anything thin and sturdy enough to get into the metal nipple and wiggle it around and up. A long pin with a slightly bent tip to go around the outside of the rubber piece and pry it up. Take your pick. It's a pretty hearty piece. It will stretch and bend but I haven't ripped one yet.

I was looking for one that wasn't so heavy on the removal part because they are different animals. The ring and base are one piece on the echo version vs separate ring on the base of the plastic and guts shoved inside the shell on the vgo and 510 version. The echo ce4s are so much easier in that the shell just pulls off the base very easy.

I'm currently figuring out the camera I have. It was originally my father's. I gave it to him a few years back. He enjoyed photography and to buy him a simple point and click would have been an insult. I get the analytical part of my brain from him. Everything on this thing is settings and not "modes". Set for light, set for distance, set for contrast....etc.

Greetings! Just popped in to give a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone here, and especially to you Tx. I've been stalking for quite some time:cool: Yes...I have read every post!!! I've been wanting to upgrade and have been doing a ton of research here on the forum. Luckily, somewhere along the line, I stumbled across one of Tx's posts and landed here. Ultimately, I pulled the trigger and purchased the Echo. I've been using it (1300 for home...650 for work) for 4 days now, and couldn't be happier!! My only question at this point is ~ Why is this such a secret!?!? It has everything I wanted...long-life battery, excellent taste of juices, th, and is just flat worry free! So again, MUCHO THANKS!!! :vapor:

Thanks biendib and glad you like it. I've been letting people know for a year now about how good they work but I think a lot of the reason it hasn't got a lot of takers is most people start out with 510 devices and if they want a bigger battery they stick with that threading. I also think it is because they are auto and until recently there was a continuous rant against autos by a lot of people on ecf that post a lot. Most have never tried the 2nd generation autos but still speak against them all the time. I'm glad you discovered them though and hope they continue to work good for you. I have lots of PV's but I still use the echo the most.
Welcome to our group and don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have.
