Ah, so no stainless stealth? Bummer… I want my first Echo to be stainless (1100 if possible) but too cheap to get a kit :p Well, probably will need charger and else, but still…

I don't know, don't want to spend too much on hardware now - still need to find the 'all day juice' and need to set budget for picking up sample. Darn.

Maintenance can be more of a priority for those just getting "sealed" batteries. Remember they are not really sealed. Those tiny air holes on the side can get gummed easier if you don't get in there with a toothbrush or toothpick every now and then. You can't see them to clear them but if you forget to clean them for week or so and then do it, you'll probably notice.
But who doesn't clean their autos regularly anyway......

Yeah I was wondering if that happened with them definately something to remember. It is worth mentioning to any new users that there are two tiny airholes on the unsealed batteries right below the threads that you need to keep cleaned out and if plugged will cause it to have a tight draw too. It is easy to get to them though just run a needle or something through to clean them out. If you run some alcohol around the threads once in awhile with a Q-tip helps too.

You'll find you don't mind the led. It's not at all obnoxious as you might think. I don't know about the red. Anyone have one with a red led? I thought originally all the black were supposed to be blue led and and stainless was red. I don't know if that has changed.

You should definitely save for the kit. You'll need everything in it anyway and you'll save overall.

Yeah, I think I should be OK with the led, it'll be used for at home weekend non-stop vaping anyway, so not a big deal. It'll be covered by Kuwako too… someday :)

I think you are right, Charlz, better save for the kit, thanks. Maybe after I find the juice I love to put into 3ml carto :D

Then......you LOSE! No, there has been no race yet. I already have these "sealed" batteries. In fact, I was the first here to get a "sealed" echo. It was in my first kit from NW Vapors. They have a 5-6 second cutoff that you can test simply by sucking on the battery. Vaporgirl has echos that have a silver cap instead of an led and she tested them to a 10 second cutoff. Those are the ones I was referring to. She is the only one who has these stealths and they are not the same stealth that was on the market before.

Only her black batteries are stealth....not her stainless. Something she should clarify on her site.

My stealth kit is in the mail :)

I didn't read the fine print! :) Besides that I cheated and bought from Cropduster who is located just over the mountain from me. Ordered a solo 1300 Auto Saturday and it arrived today, Monday.

There are no holes visible in the post area, there are no slots and the bat has no juice so I can't give you a cutoff. It has a Blue activity light on the end, I forget what category that's supposed to put it in. Do they normally arrive totally depleted?

Errol

Can someone indulge me and post a pic of these 'slots' that are on normal 808 batts and the absence of slots on the Echo?

Charlz I read your pm a couple of times and still don't understand it. None of my V4L diamonds/Halos/Volts have any slots. The only slot I see is in the cartomizer, and it looks like a 'screw' slot if you know what I mean...

Been pondering this myself WRT to my gen 2 808s. I dip a toothpick in ETOH, run it around between the post thread housing, but I always have this thought in my head that I'm gradually just shoving crap into that tiny pin hole on the side of the batt post

unsealed autos have their problems, but at least you when you use the toothpick you totally avoid the large air intake hole

is the toothpick your preferred technique for 'sealed' autos Charlz and friends?

I've been using two 650mah matte black 808 echo batteries with an echo dual cartomizer for a little over two weeks now. I really cannot accurately express how happy I am with owning a few 650mah auto batteries! Probably should switch out the rubber whistle tip for something sturdier and mellow down the blue LED cover but as far as the performance of the device and dual cartomizers holy crap! I'll usually use the full 650mah before I have to reload my cartomizer. Been using the same dual cart with a RY4 clove mix for 14days with no problems and no dry hits. NO BURNT TASTE! EVER! So awesome. Hi to all the Echo users :D

Cyrus, do you have any "sealed" autos? Look at the SI site if you don't. You'll see that picture they post as a banner of their "sealed" autos. They have the same slot as your cartos. Either the battery or the carto needs this slot to make autos work. Unless they have a hole in the middle. I believe it was StartLifeEndLife who took a dremel to his 901 to 510 adapter and put vents in the threading and a slot in the post to make it work.

I can honestly tell you though that I've found so many 808 options to test juice that I no longer use my 901 attys.

Congrats on choosing a very good PV CMC. I use the hard plastic 801 whistle tips. They make it much easier to hold in teeth if needed plus they don't fall out as easy. You can buy them here for 2.95 for five with free shipping. Order the DSE 801 Hard Tip Empty. Empty Cartridges

Anyone found a site for hard plactic 801 whistle tips? I boiled and bent mine to a perfect curve. I used a screw driver as a lever and it also widened up the hole and virtually eliminated the condensation problems. I can't tell you enough how awesome it is to be able to chomp on this curved tip. Need more!!!!!!
