I'm as corny as Kansas in August,
Dancing along to a great disco beat.
If you'll excuse an expression I use,
I'm in love with CigEasy's Elite!

ELITE-6.jpg

Most of my reviews are long-winded and filled with facts. This is not one of them. Not because the subject doesn't deserve an in-depth review. It does! Rather because SSV2 has already provided such a review ... and because my wife is quite ill and I just don't have the stamina to devote to the task.

What I'm doing here, beyond pointing you to
SSV2's review, is providing confirmation – based on my own intensive experience with the Elite – of all that he says in his review. [He is a Supplier Associate after all and you might otherwise take his claims with a grain of salt.] Also I'll add my personal observations and feelings about the Elite.

Out of the blue, about a week ago, Frank of CigEasy sent me an Elite 808 ... without any obligation to review it. [He did the same several months ago with the Go-Go, which I declined to review. Unlike so many, I didn't enjoy it.] This baby, however, demands a review ... and a glowing one.

In summary,
the Elite is now my favorite PV! I think its size and shape are neat, but what I love about it are the superlative vapor, strong TH, and wonderful flavor.

I have called the traditional e-cigs (super-mini, mini, and penstyle) "skinny batts" and the eGo-types "fat batts." The Elite is a
slender batt. [It reminds me of a cigarillo: not a cigar or a cigarette, but somewhere in between.]

tumblr_ldjlkh1CxT1qc379x.jpg

It is a bit wider than the skinnies (such as the Kr8 model shown below), but significantly narrower than the fat batts. Although the battery is somewhat longer than the 650 mAh eGo, the total length with its cartomizer is about the same as the eGo with an XL cartomizer.

ELITE-4.jpg

The battery has the latest state-of-the art convenience features: 3-button-press shutoff and a ring of lights at the bottom to indicate remaining charge ... as well as JSB's trademark bling: a "simulated diamond" switch button, which lights an attractive blue when pressed. It is comfortable to press and engages easily and reliably; I've never had a misfire.

ELITE20CARTS-2-1.jpg

The battery's 380 mAh may not impress you, but comparing it to the 650+ fat batts is unfair. Because of its slenderness, a more appropriate comparison is to the standard size 116mm Kr8, the highest mAh for which is 320 mAh. And its voltage (which SSV2 measured as 4.24V fully charged, not under load) is perfectly matched with the Elite cartomizer's resistance (a trade secret).

I've confirmed that the Elite battery
can effectively be used with Kr8 cartomizers.

ELITE-3.jpg

I doubt I ever will hereafter, however, as I am so pleased with the Elite 2ml-capacity, whistle-tipped cartomizer's performance (and with its aesthetic matching with the battery). [I'll save my VOLT cartos for use on my 65mm VOLT batts to use when I want a super-mini experience.]

ELITE20CARTS-2-1-1.jpg

And, because of that perfect matching, to me it is irrelevant that the Elite is not 510-compatible. Get a $30 Riva for your smok Tech 1.7 ohm Single Coils and Smok Tech Dual Coils (my second and third favorites, respectively).

The
$50 kit includes two manual batteries, five cartomizers (blank), charger, and instruction manual (written in English by Frank).

ELITE-2.jpg

Additional five-packs of cartos can be purchased for $15. Spare batteries are not currently offered.

So...

  • If you want very high mAh, get a big battery mod or one of those 1100-1300 mAh fat batts.

  • If you want a super-mini, get the VOLT with 65mm batteries.

  • If you want 510 compatibility, get a Riva or eGo.
But if you want a truly wonderful vaping experience in a slender package – that will last you for several hours between charges and juice fillings – get the Elite 808 from CigEasy!

I never talk on here but I had to log in and say, you totally sold me on this. I used the rest of my paycheck on these and some juice from pink spot. I've tried the volt and lost them :p. They were good but I never tried blank carts with good juice. But ehhh, and I tried the ego with all kinds of tank mods and ehhh, I never tasted GREAT flavor... I had vapor kings ....im not trying to put down any brands but I'm smoking a camel bold crush as we speak bc I love trying new stuff :). I want one thats amazing that will make me stop smoking for good.

I expect that the carto's resistance can be tested, Morandir. I was just passing on what Frank told me (although he never used that term "trade secret", just that he was not releasing that information).

Hope you like it, silentdoom. Be aware that I was communicating my subjective impressions (and some factual information). YMMV. Speaking of subjective impressions, I have found that the TH sometimes is too strong for me. I occasionally use the Elite carto with a 510-to-808/901 adapter on my 3.2V eGo batteries to tone it down a bit. Still produces great vapor and flavor, but with a milder TH.

I'm bumping this ... not out of egocentricity, but because this PV deserves to be brought to the attention of our vaping community.

I just go my shipping notice last night, and as I hear their shipping is FAST!!! So I hope to be relaxing tomorrow night trying out my new Elite!! I smoked my last cigarette last night as well and dont plan on buying anymore. Im trying out my volt again. I think the problem was that I wasnt letting cartos dry out enough before filling. I boiled and ovened them last night, yummmmmmmmm !!!!!! but I cant wait for this Elite!!!! Ive been reading reviews and nothing but good things have been said!!!! I hope pink spot juice is good :toast:

Great review as always Don!

I'm a fan of the 65mm Volt/Bloog, but this has caught my attention. Is the draw comparable to the "super-mini"?
Since it is a manual battery, I find the draw to be easier. With auto batteries, some of my effort goes into engaging the battery. But the cartomizers themselves? About the same I guess. I'm terrible at evaluating my subjective, physical experiences. Basically, I live in my head. My body (including throat) awareness is pretty much at the level of: Ug. Feel good. or Agh! Taste like doo doo!:D

Sounds like Frank sent it promptly. However, I'm not sure that he has any greater influence with USPS than any other supplier.;-) Don't blame CigEasy if it doesn't arrive as soon as you hope.

Best e-cig I have ever tried!! Got mine today now I'm just waiting for my pinkspot juice tomorrow!!! Awesome pv tho!
Good to get feedback, silentdoom! I was starting to doubt myself. [I still love it, but was this some idiosyncrasy of mine?] The only other comments I had read about the Elite were from a supplier associate.

You did get it quickly, huh. I guess Frank does have an in with the USPS.;)

Sounds like a good in between PV and I like the voltage indicator, first I've seen on a smaller pv. I guess I'll have to add it to my collection.:2cool:
It's not really a voltage indicator, TX. Just a ring of three small lights at the bottom, indicating charge remaining. It is a useful feature, but does not indicate the voltage.

I have the elite. Like the size and feel of the battery as well as the vape from it. Don't care for the button though. I love a manual battery, though this battery would be great as an auto. The carto works great on other batteries as well. I've used it on glv2, glv super mini and v4l diamond and stealth batteries -works flawlessly

what is the throat hit like in comparison to using the same cart on a regular kr808d-1 battery, such as bloog maxxfusion etc? is there a noticeable difference? i use strictly 36mg juice because i am a throat hit ...... haha. and i find EVEN with 36mg juice, throat hit is STILL not strong enough for me on these regular kr808d-1 batteries... will i have even more with these new units? also, what is the cutoff time of these? thanks!

Thanks for this review Don. I am looking for a new KR808 battery to replace a lost V2 auto battery. I love my V2 manual shorty battery, but the charge life is awful. I ordered a whole bunch of V2 carts, so I should be able to use these on this Elite, and vice versa.
I would return my V2 kit as I now feel I paid way too much for it, but I lost the auto batt! However, I am just a little unsure about the only 7 day warranty from cigeasy, and no money back. I'd have to order a whole nother kit if after 7 days my battery just broke, or stopped working.
I guess I'm worried cause I'm already having trouble with my V2 notebook cig working intermittantly.

Hi Don. Thanks for the great review. Just wondering if you have tried these on the auto echo battery.
I did try, Fabsta, but it wasn't making a good connection (or perhaps there was some other reason; I ain't no techie). I couldn't get it to work. Perhaps someone else would be more successful. I've had little incentive to fiddle with these on other batteries (other than that voltage-lowering technique with the eGo)*. The Elite carto and batt work so well together.

* FYI: I don't know whether it is some weird anomaly, but the two cartos that I've used on the eGo with an adapter no longer work on the Elite battery.

I am not a representative of CigEasy and can't speak for Frank. I can tell you that in the 2+ years that I have dealt with him and CigEasy (starting with my very first e-cig), he has provided excellent customer service. He wants you to be happy with what you purchase from CigEasy and I'm sure that he will do whatever is feasible to ensure that.

You know how I feel about the Elite. But if you would prefer a smaller model, I recommend the Smokeless Image VOLT. The shorty version (103mm total length) is 220 mAh; the standard 116mm version is 320 mAh: these are higher than any other Kr8s their size ... other than the more expensive, virtually identical Bloog Maxx Fusion (about which I raved in my February 2011 review) and Halo G6.
