Thats the first time I heard that before. Is that to reserve space, because the more space that is used the higher the cost?

You mean you didn't read the TOS and all the stickies and have them tattooed on your arm? Shame, shame on you.

Homeish now
Where/how did you come to that conclusion?

Demand that the Obama administration pay his female employees the same as he pays the men. If he believes in what he says Im sure he will.

I understand yall dont have the back bone to attack the author of that piece, and I thank you for proving it.

Your little add on... "A true end to racism?"

Yup Obama was called on it. Turns out its smaller then the national gap, plus its not really comparing the exact same job...mostly a lot of hype. Should he be doing better, ya I think so... is he doing better then past administration OH ya. So....basically stop watchin fox :p

As far as the piece.... while I agree with the rough conclusion that helping blacks at college entry is too late really, we need to be doing far more to protect and support our school system. Dude basically claims we need to do more! So lets remove this and do less! 0o
The rest of it is just fluffy BS no real meat to it. Cant really tear into something that has none.

Her argument was that permissible “race-sensitive admissions policies,” the new name for racial preferences, both serve the compelling interest of obtaining the educational benefits that flow from a diverse student body and inure people to the benefit of racial minorities. By the way, no one has come up with hard evidence of the supposed “educational benefits” that come from a racially mixed student body, and there’s mounting evidence of harm done to minorities through academic mismatching.

This being my first contribution to "The Outside," I will start slow.

The passage I quoted shows 2 (rather blatant) racist points of view of the author. Firstly, the argument against "supposing educational benefits" from a diverse student body smacks of "What could WE possibly learn from THEM?" Secondly, and directly in support of my first point, the argument of "academic mismatching." Is this another way of saying, "They're too stupid to be here in the first place?"

Thanks for the hours of discourse (notice I didn't elect to qualify, I'd hate to start off on the wrong foot with certain other contributors), it's all been an experience.

Slavery wasnt all about racism, ask the Irish.

Get in a "way-back-machine" and ask the British if Irish are the same race as them -

Well yes they might be too ignorant to be there, that would be the point. Anyone who doesn't have the ability to pass the required school work or tests might be setting themselves up for failure and it has nothing to do with the color of their skin. Also saying that it might add nothing of particular educational value to allow someone into a school simply because they have a different skin tone isn't exactly a novel idea. You seem to be saying that they are educated enough to get by in college regardless of their test scores or grades in school but only if they are minorities. Isn't that rather racist of you? Also isn't it a tad racist to assume that someone has different and more valuable life experiences simply because they have a different tint to their skin?

I'm actually being a little sarcastic here, so to make my point clear, when you play the race card it can easily cut both ways. If what you are looking for is a reason to call someone a racist it's very easy to find something you don't like. I don't actually think you are a racist but your statements could be construed to appear racist because of how you expressed yourself.

    Actually it was a preface.

No Obama is doing much worse then his predecessor.

You need to read more of his writings if thats your conclusion.
