I'm having that run around with customer service right now,i think it's partially someone not knowing anything about the product, and also partially the language difference.
I bought a mod a few months ago that has a dna 75 board in it.The other day,the mod was sitting on the table, and it sounded like bacon frying,i kept hearing the sizzle, then i realized it was the mod, there was no atty on it,the board was burning up and melting the wires. When i contacted cs,they want me to upload a video of the problem,no way am i putting a battery back in that mod and getting anywhere near it to record a video haha.Hopefully i can get someone there to understand that,it's still under warranty, but i refuse to possibly get hurt trying to get a video for them.

The same exact thing happened to a friends IPV4 just a couple of days ago. I had it to see how I liked a larger box mod. It was just laying there and smoke started coming out of it. The top was very hot. I yanked the batteries out and let it cool down. I tried putting the batteries back in later and even with it turned off and no tank on it, it started getting hot again. So I pulled the batteries again and it will not be used again.

What people don't understand is that in regulated mods the boards are always pulling power even when off. (How else would it know you pressed the button 5x to turn it back on?) I think what is happening is the circuit that handles the on/off/lock functionality just wears down and eventually shorts out causing everything to heat up/burn internally.

If you want all the glass rattling around loose in the same box, I guess you could open a ticket and make the suggestion: https://support.fasttech.com/general/PSLE :)

    :rickroll:
I've opened 8 tickets over the years for broken glass.
Doesn't bother me. It always gets replaced.
It's their problem if they can't figure out how to package glass.

I'm mostly kidding, of course. I guess it must just come out cheaper for them to replace the, what I have to assume must be a pretty significant fraction of shipped ones that end up broken (I haven't bought any glass, but I've seen the condition the other packages have been in) than to do whatever it would take to get it right the first time, every time?

Funny enough, I've bought lots of replacement glass from FT and none of it has ever come broken (yet). However, I did buy a tank and the glass arrived broken (packed in it's foam nest inside the box no less). They credited me back $2 and I bought a replacement for $1.50.

Knock on wood... I just fired off an order for 15 glass tank replacements. The most I've ever had in one package - hope it arrives unscathed.

I've ordered a lot of spare glass from them, and 99% of the time they arrived in good shape.I had 1 order, there was a 5 pack of glass, and 4 out of 5 were either cracked or had chips on the edges.A simple solution would have been to put some thin foam or something between them, but instead, they stacked all 5 in 1 baggie, edge to edge with nothing between them, oddly enough the one in the middle was the one with no damage haha.

After telling them no way i was making a video,i expected a hassle, but they surprised me on this one. They actually understood it was not safe to put a battery back in that mod,so i then got the same scripted response others have gotten about having a local place fix it.I told them that's not an option either,so now i'll get my RMA and get this thing replaced. The whole process has went smoother than i expected, now it'll just be a waiting game,i should get the replacement by Thanksgiving haha.

My only experience with Amazon was one Xmas my wife ordered something for me and it was supposed to be delivered several days before Xmas. It arrived the day before Xmas, which we were fine with, so we didn't contact Amazon about it, but they contacted us, and apologized, and refunded half the cost of the item, which was around $50.00 if I remember correctly. Not bad, we were extremely happy.

Has anyone had to return a warranty or return item to Hong Kong?I know they have a return center in Florida, but they want me to send this mod back to Hong Kong, just curious what that's going to cost.
That's odd. They usually say if you're in the US, Canada, or Mexico, to send to their Florida return center, and everywhere else send it to HK. Are you currently still in Ohio, like your profile says?

Good find,i had not seen that.Yeah still in Ohio,so i will be contacting them back and referencing that page.Thanks.I knew they had a place in Florida,so i found it odd that they want me to send to Hong Kong, and even more odd,is they want it unregistered mail,no way i'm taking a chance on a $90 mod getting lost along the way and have no way of knowing when it gets there.

Are they asking you to pay return shipping? I've never returned an item to FT, so I don't know their shipping policies. My guess, at slowest way, probably between $10--20 at the post office, but that is just a guess....

    Anna
They want me to pay it,then show proof of the cost and they will reimburse a portion of it.

    Sigh.

I feel like I want a sigh button for some reason, today.

    Anna
Haha,i know the feeling.I just messaged them back and added a screen shot of the page bwh79 linked to,so hopefully it was just a case of them not realizing i live in the U.S.,but who knows,it could be because i wouldn't give them their video haha.

The only big problem I have had with FT so far after well over a hundred orders is recently when two different orders went out for delivery a month ago at the same time thru Canada Post and are in limbo.

DEFINATELY a Canada Post shipping issue and the orders are likely stolen, lost or sitting on a shelf in a warehouse. Having said that, FT MUST do the trace (sender has to initiate this) and they say that I won't know what is up for at least 60 days. So over 4 months to wait to see if I will get my gear or my $50-ish back. Brutal.

Not very good customer service considering I have spent thousands with them over the last couple years. They should credit or reship the orders as most respectable businesses would.

Maybe they will ask me to post a YouTube video going thru my entire house to prove the orders aren't here? :w00t:
