The FastTech Thread for All FastTech Posts (Part 2)

My MPV2 had to go through Malaysia Post. It was my 2nd time ordering it, first one was kicked back during the battery fiasco. I was refunded and waited to order again after the CNY. It left the same time as the plane that disappeared. Also had the solar charger that Maggie ordered. I was hoping it could do somebody good if it was on that plane. I got my package in through I had to wait as it needed to be signed for.

Well, fasttech has responded asking me how I'd like to be refunded for my returned-to-sender MVP 2 package (PayPal refund or store credit). I guess that means they have the package. Wonder how long they've had it. What were they gonna do, just not tell me they had it?? Anyway, you can bet I told them store credit.

When I ordered, I was given a list of shipping options that supposedly excluded the ones that couldn't ship batteries. So why did they allow me to select HKPost?? As a first-time buyer, I do not feel it is my responsibility to know which shipping options to avoid to decrease the chance of customs kicking it back.

Sorry, but I wouldn't start thinking that FT has had your package for a whileand wasn't going to tell you. In my experience, and I doubt if I'm alone on this, that is not how they operate. When they are informed the package is coming back, they act pretty promptly and reliably. Thinking you need to do a Paypal claim, for example, is usually overkill and just freezes the funds that FT will be using to refund you. Counter-productive in most cases.

As to whether or not you should know about shipping options... Even as a first time buyer, yes, you should do your market research, which includes knowing or asking about conceivable issues. . The ban by most postal services on mailing lithium-battery containing items is pretty well known and documented. However, sometimes a postal service that usually accepts built-in batteries such as egos or the MVP, decides not to, quite arbitrarily (and this is their right), so packages are sometimes rejected.

Yes, it is up to us to know what our Customs regulations are. FT ships worldwide and it isn't up to them to do our research for us.

As a business handling 10k customers a day and possibly 100k products they cannot baby sit us all.
In your case it was a Built in battery and should have cleared. A ..... inspector kicked it back.

You have the First time customer blues since you had a problem. May as well either get to know them and read their policies or Move on and forget them.
Fasttech is well worth the time. They do take care of the customer. Customers do Save money and get good deals overall but like any other business there can be an occasional hiccup.
No US vender offers nearly as much product availability as Fasttech or beings customers new products almost daily.
* Note, had you not filed a PP claim, Fasttech would have re-dispatched your order VIA different post in order to get your purchase delivered. Something they automatically do in most cases if there is a shipping issue.(FREE)

It can be amusing to sit somewhere between China and the US and see all the US rants against China. I order stuff from China. I order stuff from the US. Quite often the end result is the same. It's pure luck of the draw which package gets here first. I'd say 9-14 days is the norm, tho. Batteries may not make it; some simply refuse to ship batteries out of the US. Biggest difference is shipping costs. From China? Usually free or a dollar or two. From the US, I'm happy if I get away with $10. Still less than domestic shipping in Norway :D

Not to mention USPS may well take over a week getting a package out of the country. Coupled with the fact that not nearly all shops send within a reasonable amount of time.

It's just the wonderful world of online shopping. Gives access to goods from all over the world, but may cost you a gray hair or two if you allow it to.

I'm also halfway between the US and China... on the other way around. :)

I ordered a clone and it took 3 weeks. But when I ordered (mar 10) it said "shipped in 7 days",and sure enough, the 17th it was shipped. Recieved it mar 31. So had it been shipped immediately, id have gotten it in 2 weeks. I dont think thats bad at all. Especially when it wouldve costed double to get it here.(US). Now, I live in CA, and Mt.Baker Vapor is in WA, two states away. I ordered juice and kanthal, feb 21. I recieved it Mar 17th! Thats just shy of a MONTH! I think its like some here are sayin, its just somethin thats gonna happen in an industry where we order online in order to save money. Il take some paying half, with a side of patience. Need it shoppin online lol. BTW, Mt Baker totally made it right, sent my kanthal ahead of the rest when the mix up was detected, then shipped it again with the rest. So basically they gave me a 9 dollar spool of kanthal for free, for the inconvenience. All ends well most of the time.

Planning on placing an order from FT in the next couple days and wanted to know which shipping option is recommended? USPS fist class HKP? USPS CP? Is EMS worth the cash?? No batteries just a Hades, Steam Turbine and a few drip tips. Please help!!

USPS/ePacket or HKP seems to be the preferred method.

HK Post, and ePacket via China Post have been very good with me. Lots of people reporting amazing shipping times with ePacket lately. They get shipped to San Francisco port and go through customs there. So you wouldn't have the extra couple of days it takes to get shipped across the country that a lot of us have. I would use that.

SF wouldn't be bad for me considering I'm in the Los Angeles area (Stupid indoor Vaping ban BTW!!) I ordered from them before and I believe it was Singapore Post both times which was a loooong wait. I honestly don't mind the wait cause I'm not in dire need of the stuff at the moment, but my last one was held by customs in L.A. and never released :( I think I'll go "USPS First-Class ePacket via China Post"
Thank you!:vapor:

Lost my travel setup at work yesterday which consisted of a 1300mah fatty, 4ml clearo and it's carrying case (Flashlight holder). Needless to say I was devastated. More ...... off than I should've been for what was probably $12 worth in stuff.

Came into work today to find it sitting on top of the front security desk. Today is a good day. :)

My issue is that there was a message stating "This item contains batteries so your shipping options will be limited" or something to that effect. I clearly remember seeing it when I was checking out. So I wonder why then was I allowed to select HKPost if it is known for them to kick back items such as this? I don't expect to be babysat; I simply thought there wasn't going to be an issue, because according to them I was selecting a suitable option. Apparently I'm wrong, they're right, whatever.

You might be surprised, my last singapore order came within 2 weeks, or maybe I just got really lucky.

The shipping times on FT have improved significantly. I had a VV mod that was stuck in shipping in China for a month and a half. I told them to cancel it and they refunded me with credit in store. The new shipment took two weeks but the two orders I have made since then have arrived within 7 days. They seem to be getting better with their shipping options. I will pay more if it arrives quicker. The handling is quick, but the shipping is what gets stuck in customs for so long.

Once More still in english - HKP(Hong Kong Post) Claims - Loose Batteries are NOT shippable.
HKP CLAIMS Built in Batteries are Okay - i.e. EGO, MVP, etc.
SOME JACKASS decided to show their authority and KICKED your package back.
