next question...anyone tried these yet?
$10.42 Splash Anodized Glass Carto Tank Kit (6.0mL) - 1.8ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
since I have some rebate points to spend, thought I'd try a cartotank...never had one yet so figured why not....

I got one recently...not super happy with it. It seems sturdy, well built and the finish is really nice but it's very "slippy" on the carto. I'm going to relegate it to home use only and I won't be buying more. For essentially the same price you can get a Pyrex Smoktech tank (I use the ones with the metal sleeve) and the o-rings are much tighter on those.

Ummm, I always check the contents soon as I open it, then take pictures if there is a problem, then put it all back in the envelope until I get a reply to the ticket. But that's just me.

Hey guys!! For the FLASHLIGHT guys/gals....

I am planning to get a light. I would like it to be a Cree light, run on 18650 (I guess??), and be the brightest possible for around $20. I am not too lazy to research myself (I have tried), but I am fairly ignorant when it comes to lights. They all look the same to me, so thanks for any help!

On the vaping side......I am about to use some gift cert money to get a Taifun GT and my first true genny....the Kraken. I was trying to hold out for a Tobeco Prometheus, but I'm tired of waiting. It's been so long since I got to play with a new atty (about 3 weeks), that I broke down and set up the Rocket yesterday! :p
Latest to hit the wire
$16.51 Convoy C8 Cree XM-L T6-3C 2-Group 3/5-Mode LED Flashlight - 1*18650 / AMC7135*8 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
1212407-3.jpg

I bought mine from someplace else for a few bucks more but with the options I wanted...but the same thing (I got the T6-4C [more neutral color light])

If you like thinner pocketable EDC, then go with a Convoy S# (S series)
I have a S2 and an S5 inbound, going to also build a mini version of the S5 as well [The thinner lights you don't want to push a XM-L or L2 at 3A (2800mA), not enough "meat" to soak up the heat, it will get hot fast]
1321601-6.jpg

If you want a jack of all trades (and small enough for a pocket/EDC), (flood [big round light], to a throw [light focused out to a tight beam]) then you want to get a Sipik SK98 (or clone)
http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10001857/1520403-ultrafire-sh98-1-cree-xm-l-t6-3-mode-910lm-cool

There are teeny weeny small brother of these big guys that use regular AA batteries called the SK68, I paid $3.60 for mine(price has gone up), I have ordered 18 total, I really like em, they make GREAT gifts [they are known as the "bic lighters" of cree, but they are MUCH brighter than anything out there you can get at a gas station (those little 9 led jobies)] You can get em at FT but they cost more Sipik SK68

My first and truly my favorite even though there are better out there

If you want a beercan size MAMAJAMA that will practically set stuff on fire

But, isn't the rocket the one that people have said they sometimes want to throw against a wall because it's so frustrating at times?

it can be frustrating to secure the wire on those tiny little screws ,,i do it with 30ga and that is about the largest i want to try

No not misleading at all. I helped my old roommate get her boyfriend a pocket knife for Christmas. I have/had quite a bit in my life. I'll ask in extremes to get an idea what people want. I would suggest a Case knife. They look good, sturdy, and there when you need them. If not a case and want something cheaper, but still good, a Gerber knife. Not sure if those are available in Norway. Not sure the brands that are good in Europe. But those two brands can be picked up online for not too much money and look good and come with small blade options. I carry Kershaw, but I use my knife as a pry bar, can opener, hell I even peeled away a car door with it. Knives are really one of those things you get what you pay for. You can't get a China clone that works just as good as the original. And China steel has been well known for being overrated and completely sub par when it doesn't have a rating. Like having pewter with a handle. Just doesn't hold up when you actually use it. Cardboard will dull most of their steel.

Oh Lord... what have you done. Much appreciate it, tho. :D

All I wanted was a simple knife, and here I am... lacking on sleep due to googling all kinds of steels and knives and stuff. I've been from "Simple, cheap knife" to "OK Here goes the life savings" and back again. I see that even with Kershaw there is chinese steel and there are those uber-steels. Then there's Spyderco and all those "some guys name"-knives that cost a small fortune.

I know it's probably not the best steel, but I've got my eyes on the upcoming Kershaw Ember. Doubt it will peel a car, but I'm sure it will peel an orange or two. :)

IMO......Geek confirmed last night what I, and others, have been thinking. It was in a thread regarding the difference between the $26 "Russian 91" and the $21 "Russian 91".

He said that they were from 2 different manufactuers (not suppliers). The thing is that they both come in the "together best" box.

SO.....unless I am missing something, the box means nothing. Ive wondered why the Tobeco KFL from, say, 101 looks different. This could explain it. Opinions???

That's very nice knife. It's one of the two my old roommate got for her boyfriend. I had completely forgotten about that. She had it engraved for him. Wow, yea man. That knife doesn't look combat, good blade, small, and will cut some stuff up. I'm sorry, I should have just said that knife from the beginning.

Edit wait sorry again. Just woke up. She says it was an onion knife. Found it on sale for 20 bucks.

No need to be sorry lol. Really appreciate the help!

I placed an order 3 days ago and a few of the items show a ship date of this coming monday.. several other items show "Restocking" instead of a ship date.. Is that telling me that they were out of stock on those items?

I expected it to take some time.. and I'm not about to cancel.. but this is the way it goes huh?

jwoode.......I have the same question about "restocking", being a first time FT buyer, I don't know what my "best" options are.....cancel item?.....ride it out past the 2/12/14 ship date? (This one item was more of a filler buy, not the main thing I was buying)

How about one of you FT veteran buyers helping a couple noob's out.......?

FYI: Of the six items ordered 2>ready to ship....3>scheduled ship date 2/12/14.....1>restocking(listed as shipping in 5 days...2/10/14)

Any help....will be greatly appreciated......

duckie.......

Free shipping isn't a good way to go if you don't get tracking with it. I have a lost package I had to open a support ticket for. Even if it does come, it takes a long time. The USPS ePacket is the better way to have it shipped.

Anyway, I had a Kayfun Lite that was in stock when I ordered and payed for it, then they changed the status to out of stock. So I waited until the day before it was supposed to ship, but then read a note from the staff saying they were trying to find a new supplier, so I cancelled the order. Well, turns out they did ship them out the day they were supposed to and the people who didn't cancel theirs have received them or are receiving them now.

So unless you need the money back for something else, just wait it out. It'll be back in stock and it'll more than likely still ship when it's supposed.
