Me too. I've heard the voltage drop on both the OG and the clone is insanely bad though.

The black chromed brass Nemesis is insanely beautiful. It's the first mod I've actually wanted to keep polished. The switch, even with magnets, is still awful though. I really hate the Nemesis switch. I'm surprised it became so popular.
This is why I ordered the second model with the brass caps. Hopefully it will be better.

Just my opinion, but I think you folks are being fed some BS by people that say some of these clone tube mods have a lot of voltage drop ...

I just did a little experiment, because I wanted to find out for myself ...

I removed my battery from my cheap Caravela stainless steel tube mod. My 18650 battery has exactly 4.0v on the digital multimeter when measured right on the battery's end caps.

With the same 18650 battery installed in my stainless Caravela, I am getting exactly 4.0v on the top pin that makes contact to the 510 connector on my Kayfun.

So, I don't see how any of these various tube mods are going to "hit" any harder than the next ... the voltage going to the atomizer is exactly the same as it is coming straight off the battery end caps.

And I don't even have any fancy 'silver or gold plated' pins either .... just steel and brass

i may be wrong but i think that voltage drop should be measured under load!
Exactly. Sorry had to comment.

Hello everybody another FT freak that has been lurking in here a long time I just got off my a** and posted elsewhere so I could say hello and do some FT praising also. I am addicted like many to the suspense so I keep ordering and have for several months. Unlike most here I don't do Mechs or Mods I am into building the junk that is my FT addiction and also tanks clearomizers etc. I hate batterys and seldom use em since I am a crippled old goat and stuck at home all the time so I just use my bench PSs but it is interesting so I read here daily and have a long while. Retired Technician in the network computer area made me a living lots of my life so I play now.

Right now awaiting 5 orders from yonder and soon they will drop from the mail ladys bag whew! Or maybe they will drop from the mail bags whatever. Just junk like clearomizers and parts very uninteresting to most prolly. Some glass tanks for mini pros and a few led clearomizers that got 3 of few orders ago and liked so ordered more.

So again hello everybody and I will now go back to lurking and stocking the tracking sites, I loved that remark somebody made but I just order and forget when it gets here I play with it not at all into fast appearance when I order I am one that loves FTs service so no complaints here.. If I get in the way just shove my wheelchair out the door I will understand.

Well, I can check the voltage at the coil screws when the fire button is pushed, and the coil is hot.

But, I am still convinced this whole voltage drop deal between using a stainless mod vs a brass or copper mod is all blown out of proportion.

Just my opinion ...

There are plenty of stainless mods with minimal voltage drop, it's just most brass and especially copper mods have little voltage drop.

It takes a well designed stainless mod to do what a crap designed brass/copper mod does.

Silver plated contacts are better not because they hit harder, it's because they oxidize (tarnish) less than copper.

The Nemesis is known to be a hard hitter, as is the Magneto...both stainless. It's all in the design of the firing mechanism.

I don't use a mech but I can see where the mod resistance could be important in low ohm builds.

Just making some numbers up, don't know if they conform to reality:
If the mod has a resistance of .05 ohms and the battery is 4 Volts,

Using a 2 ohm coil, it doesn't matter much because the mod will only drop 4Volts * (.05/2.05) = .1 volts. No big deal, you're still getting 3.9 volts out, or a 2.5% loss of voltage

Now if you drop to a 0.3 ohm coil, the mod will drop 4Volts * (.05/0.35) = .57 volts. Now you only have 3.43 Volts at the coil or a 14% voltage loss. Quite a bit more significant, especially to someone that tries to get every bit of power they can.

Cut the contact resistance in half and you cut the voltage loss in half.
The concern does seem excessive to me too, the .05 ohms is probably exaggerated, but I'm not a cloud chaser.

Vape mail in 30 minutes. TICK-TOCK, TICK-TOCK...
KayFTun 3.1, Patriot & some small stuff.

they are closed till tuesday but most of the time it takes a day too two max to ship in stock, well for me it has been. it takes around 2-3 weeks from shipped for me to get my things but im from the uk. ive seen other usa people say its faster to usa with e packet, uk doesnt have that option yet sadly. it can take longer if it runs into probelms but generally ive found it to be ok and only had one hiccup but I blame that missing plane from last month messing the post up. :):)

with fast tech, just be ready to wait a month and you won't be let down :) sometimes it's a few weeks, other times a month...really just depends on what items you are getting sometimes and shipping methods and well it's the customs that takes a while...how fast they are moving....so take it with a grain of salt...expect a month's wait and you'll be fine :)
