Be sure to say how you like that mech when it shows up.
If I like the RDAs I'll probably get some gennies and it looks like I'll need a mech for a mesh wick building method that looks interesting. I was thinking of a "fake" Kamry fake Empire but since I don't plan on using it to vape much, if at all (unless Vamo can't push a 1.5Ω DC rda enough for me, and I doubt that with 5A), cheaper is better. Plus the all brass looks better than the K100s.

I'll post about the V3 when I get it. Heard some great things so far, decent quality with very little voltage loss. I think this one and the K100 and K101 have the least reported voltage loss of these new cheaper mechs, comparible to the high end ones. I also have the KTS Telescopic Storm (FT sells it, but not sure what they call it) which has a little more voltage loss, but after sanding the contact points it's comparable to my K101. Personally, I like the looks of the Storm the best and the feel of the button, but the KT101 has surprised me with it's solid feel, and eGo threading is nice. For the V3 I've read a couple complaints about the cheap feel of the 2-tone aluminum and brass version but the all brass one I have coming sounds pretty solid.

Rebuildable drippers is about all I use for at home vaping. The VAMO for the most part runs them fine. Without stacking it gives me about 11 watts max which is enough for builds that use 30ga or above wire. When I needed more watts I've stacked batts in the VAMO to use up to 15 watts, but all my builds with 30ga work more than fine at 11 watts. Fatter wire like 28ga and below works better on a mech, and anything below 1.2ohms of course needs to be run on the mech.

You won't necessarily need a mech to get a non-oxidized mesh set-up going, but it sure makes it easier. I set up one on my VAMO that never dipped below 1.2 ohms when I was pulsing out the hot spots, but I think I lucked out on that. I wasn't really impressed enough by the flavor of mesh wicks to make more than a couple.

So are you suggesting that I do not buy the ego's from fasttech?

At this point he is dead set on 650's, but I anticipate that he will not stick with them for long and want to upgrade. So I thought FT would be a good place to start.

I had the impression that all egos basically come from the same place anyways... So no sense in paying a markup on them... But if I am wrong with that reasoning please let me know.

Going to be honest I am not happy at all with the 650s I got from fasttech. The difference in quality between them and the genuine joyetech ones I have ins noticeable. I am playing war with pushed in pins even though I am super careful. That never happens on my genuine Joyetech. For a new vaper I would get the real deal. It is far to easy to accidentally screw something down too far.

Even right here on the FT thread, there has been report that the FT batteries are less than stellar. They mostly do the job though.

If you just want cheap, buy FT. If you want something that works well enough and feels solid enough to tempt your husband, buy Joyetech. They both basically do the job. But, spending a little more still wouldn't be a waste because the good batteries can still be back-ups.

I've only ever had one Joyetech battery ever die, or rather the button was starting to become unreliable so I threw it away. It was 2 years old. But, it was still working better than some brand new knock-offs.

I haven't been following this thread religiously. So, I haven't noticed if you, specifically, have bought anything from FT. If you have, are you happy with the quality? Do you think your husband will be? Do you think it will bring him enough pleasure to tempt him?

That's all that matters, isn't it?

No problem with my 650's from Joytech.
First you have to realize they have Several Different Brands available. You cannot judge all by your one selection.
Second - tighten until Contact means just that. Do so and nothing gets pushed anywhere.
Third - Genuine EGO batteries are 3.3v - Most clones are 3.7 and provide a better vape experience.

I think you misunderstood me. I was saying I have no problems with it on the Joyetech ones. The Fasttech ones however that center pin isn't solid at all and it is super easy to overtighten and push it down even while being careful with it.

I've only been following the thread for a few days... So far all I have tried from them is liquid. I bought nearly all of the liqua line and a few dekang. Of the whole bunch the only one I would order again is the tiramisu and possibly coffee. The flavor is great on those. The rest are just meh, maybe if I'm hard up I could stomach it... They were cheap, and they taste cheap. Just my opinion.

I have a pack of evods and replacement heads and one of the rebuildable drippers that got good feedback are on the way. I will report back once I have a chance to try them out.

Thanks for the insights about the egos. I think for now I will just get one too see for myself, but the genuine joytech to be safe. I really want this to work for him.

I can definitely imagine there will be inconsistency issues with any FT stuff. That's the Chinese way! Faster faster FASTER! QC... What's that? Lol.

But if you get a dud, at least they are nice about giving you a new one. That's the thing.... they KNOW there will be duds. But its cheaper to just replace them then try to weed them out.

All 5 ego types i have got from them 2 3setting VV, 2 Standard and 1 Twist all work fine and cost $45 with 3 usb chargers, 2 cases, 1 wall charger 2 Evods and 2 CE4 clearos. I have had most of them for about a month.

At the end of day, I decided they were all made in China anyway so I might as well have them at 1/3 of the price and live with the odd dud. Then I noticed FT have a 6 month replacement warranty on their batteries which is better than most of the online stores in my country.

Some of the Liquas improve dramatically if you mix them, eg I can't vape the energy drink straight but mixed 50/50 with the menthol and a dash of tobacco it's my EDV. I also love the Tiramisu and Chocolate mixed at 50/50.

Correction. The Joyetech eGo-C Upgrade batteries can be switched to unregulated mode where they will provide whatever the battery has (3.7v). Same price as the non-Upgrade batteries.

I haven't had a Joyetech battery fail yet (1000mah). My Twist is touchy about being dropped and having the button go inside. My PT has been poor since early on, but that was from some bad information about keeping them topped up not being hard on the batteries. The PT and my original 4 are lacking in use time compared to new ones but they could still do the job after a year of hard use. Although none of my eGo-Cs are seeing much use since going to the 18650s so even the ones that are close to being canned are tolerable.

You have to be kidding me. I turned it on, then was mad that it was a sham. But truth be told, its still on, in the backround, and in no way is that depressing. Well played sir ;)

I totally did the same thing lol

Haven't scanned the whole thread, so forgive me if this has been covered.

Does anyone have an experience with these $5.70 Pyrex DCT Tank Atomizer (3.0mL) - black / 1.5 ± 0.2 ? I'm looking for larger capacity LR tanks. My Vivi Nova leaks like a sieve, and clearomizers aren't cutting it. I have some credit with FT for some bad egos I got, so figured I'd try this. Otherwise I'm likely done with FT for parts that have liquid in them.

I'm also very interested to know if anyone has tried the cartomizers:
