You are wise! That's the trick. I'm so embarrassed. I knew that 5 click thing, but hadn't encountered it on any new ones. Thanks.

Shay and Maggie are right. It happens. I decided to put mine back on a charger to see what would happen. I have a habit of making sure it is turned off before I do that and that time I turned it on and did the Homer Simpson "D'oh".

Update on the MVP situation...

They replied to my ticket saying "

Sorry for the issue. We apologize to you our warehouse staff have mistakenly shipped version 1 to some of the orders made during this time frame.

Thus we provide below resolution and you may choose either one of it.

1. Considering the hassle of return, if you prefer to skip it and we will offer a partial refund of $5.00.
2. Return the wrong item for correct replacement, we shall reimburse the return postage fully and arrange the replacement once confirmed delivery of return package.
PS: As we need to return the old version 1 for refund from our supplier, we appreciate your understanding in this case.

Please confirm so we could proceed. Thank you."

Then I asked on the forum if they could send the return any sooner to which they replied

"Unfortunately we cannot process the refund until our returns center has received the package. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Wow, thats a bummer... So If it takes 6 weeks to get the v1 back to you then 6 weeks for the v2 to get to me that will be 15 weeks from my initial order, 4 months to get my MVP version 2.

It wouldn't be 6 weeks getting it to them. If you are in the US they have you return it to a place in Miami.

I got the brass M-16. Hope there are no aluminum threads.... That thing gets nothing but great reviews and I studied out all the reviews, etc on the popular brands.

Ahh. The brass one should be fine. I believe it has a brass type fitting. I do not have one but from what I have read it is a good mech for the clone, like you stated.

I can remember back 1+ years ago and people saying their battery was bad. Then vendors started adding please click 5 times rapidly. People then wanted to know what 'rapidly' was.

Faasttech descriptions don't always mention the 5 clicks. To make matters more confusing my SVD is 3 clicks. I am used to clicking until the light comes on with 5. Sometimes I would do 6. Now I turn the SVD on and off.

Gals the Capt got you moving on it, mate.

Trident and Chi You clone should be getting here any day now...

The separate packages both were ordered on the 23rd and the last scan was it leaving a San Francisco USPS sort facility 3 days ago. So close yet so far!

Gah. I think my package is stuck in the HKP black hole. 5 days since shipped and no tracking info even available. Merry Christmas to me!

And that's the price of doing business in China and saving a bunch of money. It takes time, and when there is a problem, it takes a lot of time. They have offered several solutions including full refund or replacement. What they have done for you is exactly what they said they would do if you were not happy. I wish all our US vendors were as responsive.

Bummer about the wait though. It is such a great device that you should think about keeping the v1 and vaping it while you wait and then applying the refund to another V2. The VW feature is nice but does not really change the vaping experience and when the V2 does come in, you will have a back up.

I'm not sure if they do it from when it gets to Miami, or from when Miami sends it to them. I'm in Fl, so my return should have went pretty quick if it were from Miami receiving it, but instead ...

Returned battery on May 28th.
Contacted them on June 18th as I still had no shipping notice of replacement battery.
Their reply was that they would not ship until they received original battery. Later in the day they replied that they had received original battery and were mailing replacement.
Received replacement battery June 25th.

So, almost a month (and the replacement battery was also faulty, but I gave up returning it at that point as it just wasn't worth the hassle).

I love Fasttech prices, their honor their warranty, but yeah - the time lag for a return is a PITA.

Most US Vendors have a 7-14 day policy that requires you to pay the return shipping. Then they will review the product and see if it warrants a replacement. Not all mind you but a lot specifically state it on their websites.
