Fastest shipping from fasttech I've ever seen. Private v2 was shipped last Tuesday and would've come yesterday if not for the holiday. It took some fiddling to get my trident clone on it but it's performing great. If anyone else orders one be sure to clean it out well beforehand. This thing was dirty and the brass on the bottom button looks dirty. Worth the $20 easily.

I like mine, too. Only problem is that the bottom button keeps unscrewing and falling out, and then I have to crawl all over the floor looking for the spring!

No problem, I loan it out at will...

By the way, you aren't far from my kin. I live in Indiana, but my dad's family are all around Hazard and the general Knott county area. well, a lot of them have moved around now
Wow, that is very close indeed! Any big bucks up there in Indiana? LOL

I wouldn't mind to order a couple of the cheap new ego-style batts, but I'm kind of afraid to with the shipping uncertainty. Which Chi will you be putting the AIOS on?

I wouldn't call it "big" bucks.
I had to move to the city with these ......s to I could get decent work, I hate it here. Can't even walk out back and shoot becasue it's the damned city.
I was born in Indiana, dad moved here years ago. We have family all the way from Hazard to Tug Valley... most of them were originally from Tug Valley.

I've ordered Ego's and an MVP (on multiple orders) since the shipping choke-off and they came through without a hitch... about 12-14 days order to Indiana. I think it's pretty much like shooting craps. They check random packages but most go through without getting screened. It's still a gamble though.
Best thing I can tell you is worst case scenario, your package gets returned to FT, you lose a week or so and they refund you money, then you try again.

I've ordered from him before and I have another one on its way, shipping is a bit long in the tooth to Canada but I think it's the border and USPS, can't blame him. Actually I ordered 2 separate things and asked him to put it on the same order to save the shipping and he did, no problem. Good guy.

Agreed. I just rebuilt one today with a single coil and Ekowool. Vapes marginally better than the supplied set-up.

I never tried the stock coils. I went straight to a micro coil ribbon wire. It works better than my dual V9 has in any configuration including sub-ohm.
It has eko in it right now but I think the regular silica was working better.

The IGO-L drilled for a single is also easier to load up and not spill than the V9 with dual holes.

Hy folks, although I am aware about the shipping issues they have right now, I want to buy these Trustfire 14500 IMR but I couldn't find any opinion about them in here. I'm not sure how many people have bought them, I'm just wondering how are they holding up?
The other option would be these batteries : US14500V
wow, this thread just sails along!

I know a lot of people won't use anything with "fire" in the name, but I DID buy these Trustfire 14500 IMR. I have been using them for almost a month now. I have a degree in industrial electronics, so I'm aware of the risks. These risks apply to all lithium batteries. The general idea is that the IMR batteries are "safer" due to the materials used in them. From what I have researched, this appears to be true. I only use IMR batts in mechanical devices to minimize these risks. I have been accused of "living on the edge", but I am a musician. It's just my nature I guess.

Any ways, I have really kept an eye on these as I have used them. I got six, and I charged them up. Every one of them charged to 4.1 volts the first time, and every time after. I get very good life from them so far. None have been hot from the charger. All perform as well as the IMR AW's (600 mah, red) I have. Although to be fair, I have had my AW's for a year now. The AW's have been worked hard, so I can't give a real comparison to a fresh one. I have a couple of new efest 14500 too. Somewhere in a review it was said they thought these trustfire's may be rebranded efest's. I don't know if that is true, but I can't see much difference in the performance of the efest's to the trustfire's. At this point, I trust them. I use them daily, and for what it's worth, I just ordered six more. I have an RH sprite, A true bagua clone, a RS ego, and a KSD novice on the way. These batts work well in all of these devices that I have, obviously I haven't tested them in the KSD ...yet! :) .

It's just my opinion, but i wouldn't recommend running any 14500 battery with anything less than 1.5 ohms. I run 1.8 to 2.0 coils, and get a good balance of vapor performance to battery life. That's just me though. I save the dual coil, sub-ohming for the 18650's when I'm in the mood

oh yeah, the trust fires are 50mm so they where a little long for the bagua. They will still fit, but with a little gap. The AW's (48 mm)however fit it perfect.
