Hey, just read your thread in the FT forum about genesis atomizers. Like i said before i started vaping with a RSST and then went through the whole spectrum. I won't touch a genesis device again, i like to fill a tank and vape. Maybe clean and change the wick every week, more than that and it becomes another chore for me
Get yourself a KF type atomizer, i've used my r91 for 3 weeks now and it hits all the right spots for me YMMV tho
Well, I'm like you for the most part... I'm a plug-n-vape type. I can't rely on something that is finicky if that's the only thing standing between me and cigarettes so I stick with what works for the most part. I've found a real comfortable spot with the Aspire tanks. Man I just love them... I managed through all this time with MT3s, Protanks and iClears. They work well enough, but again, finisky sometimes. The Aspire based atomizers have pretty much taken away the last little bit of pain.
That being said, I'm always reaching for something, afraid I'll miss out on some incredible atomizer that's better than anything else so I buy these things to tinker.
I cannot STAND messing around with dripping. If I could name one thing that totally pi@#$s me off, it's getting juice on my hands... or anywhere but the inside of a tank for that matter, so dripping isn't my game. I've played around with quite a few different atomizers and only 2 have worked like I think an atomizer should. One was the Ithaka, and one is my shiny new Fasttech "Rocket" , aka clone of a russian clone of a KF. It really works, and it really works well. One thing about it bugs me: it whistles when I vape. The Ithaka is an awesome performer, but it's like having a flathead Ford V8 in your daily driver... it does it's job SO well, but requires constant attention and tinkering. Bleh...
I can't rebuild a KF clone on the road, so I stick with Aspire tanks for most of my vaping and the Rocket when I'm sitting at my desk. Anything Genesis, Including my shiny new AIOS, has been a failure for me. Just no flavor. I find them relatively easy to setup and people say the coils last and last, but with no flavor, what is the point?
I consider myself relatively intelligent and able to follow instructions and directions, but I just can't get a setup to work well. I mean, I have followed Mojo's setup to the LETTER of detail on the AIOS (
AIOS-T/D - YouTube) and bleh... no love at all, just mildly mediocre flavor.
Since I know I like the Rocket, I might actually try to get my hands on a real one... or at least an R91 like you have. What setup are you having the best luck with from a flavor perspective.. as in wick size, wire size and resistance? shoot us a picture of a nice, dry coil setup sometime if you get a chance. I stuck with the factory style loops that cover the wick holes... wicks really well and no flooding.
