I don't think you have ever had a chance to open an ego. It is not a very unsafe procedure. One shouldn't go willy nilly but its just the switch/board, two wires, some batting and the battery itself. (haven't opened a VV yet so maybe a little more there). The contents of the battery pouch wont come spilling out.

Advice should be given by those who have knowledge.

You should take your own advice.
Advice should be given carefully. Ego units aren't to be disassembled by the average Joe.
Doing this voids its warranty anyway.
For more than one reason that advice "Try it yourself" is not something that should be tossed around when it comes to disassembling these types of battery compartments.

My very first ego had a switch failure. Instead of throwing it, I opened it and fixed it, twice, and it's now on its third switch. On more than one occasion at least one of the wires came off either from one of the battery terminals or from the board. If I didn't know anything about soldering or electronics I'd be SOL
Even worse if one of those wires were to touch in the wrong place.

Do you use one for your cell phone or laptop? Same battery chemistry.

No, but I have 3 or 4 ego"s that charge in our master bedroom closet often unattended, or when nobody is home. My cell phone is never unattended, and my laptop rarely is.

Anyway, just curious.

Totally just got my haul from fasttech.
I got into vaping in 2010, and fell off the wagon. (having backups for backups? Ain't nobody got time for that!)
Well I finally got off my .... and ordered a bunch of stuff. Even got a pink ego for the lady friend :)

Its amazing how far vaping has come since I first started. Back then everyone was ranting and raving about the 510 and I remember spending countless hours trying to find blue foam for refilling cartridges.

Now I have a vamo :3
And 3 extra egos
And 4 18650s
And a bunch of clearomizers
And extra heads
And extra passthroughs
And a bunch of juice
And a couple of atties for good measure :)
Backups for the backups :)

So far everything works wonderful. Didn't take terribly long to get here. Ordered on the 19th. So 10 days? Not too bad I think.

Thank goodness I got promoted at work so I can pay for all this.

Anyways, I'm glad this forum is still around all these years later, and that they don't go cleaning out accounts :3

Looks like I'm back for good this time. Sorry guys (and gals) :3

HEHEEE THE BLUE FOAM MOD,THE T-BAG MOD...THOSE WERE THE DAYS..lol
And hunting down coffee stirring straws.

Yes, the days that caused me to get REALLY ...... and quit vaping for several years...LOL

Thankfully, i popped back in and found some progress had been made.:vapor:

I think that was part of it for me, the amount of "fiddling" I had to do just to vape.

I literally opened up the packages from fasttech, filled up my vivi nova, popped a battery in my vamo, and started vaping.

I mean I don't mind fiddling to make things better, but it helps when things mostly work right out of the box.

And don't even get me started on dripping and driving. :p

The last straw for me had to do with a leaking 801, oily nuts and 75 dollar screwdriver.

I can hear it now, "Friends don't let friends drip and drive" ... or .... "Mothers Against Dripping Drivers" ;-)

I can say I've just gained some knowledge on this one.
Tried to unscrew an ego I got from fasttech from the charger and it came apart.
Nice bit of foam insulating the battery from the switch components. Kinda neat to see what's inside.
I wouldn't recommend using a hacksaw to saw down the middle though, that just doesn't feel like it could be very safe...

I won't send this one back. If it happens to another one I'll send em both.

Its nothing duct tape can't fix. And if you don't believe duct tape can fix anything, you haven't seen my car.

To Tight

When you push the top back on, Flip it and give it a good wack on the counter top. Should seat decently.
